Engine bay

I degreased the engine bay for the first time. I was always worried about getting all that water in there....but after reading tons of posts I was sold. WOW it looks so good now, i cant believe how well it worked. Pics to follow...it was too dark to take them tonight.
I wrapped the PCM, stuck some plastic under the lid, and wrapped some of the sensors and sprayed it all down.....so to everyone that was scared like me....go do it!:alert:

I was scared at first too but it looks SOOO good....you can eat off my engine its so clean

i dont know what to avoid..

Can someone whose done this please post pics of what you're supposed to wrap up and not get wet.

i wrapped the sensors that i saw.....the PCM....stuck some plastic under the lid, and wrapped the fuse box.

I didn't cover anything, I just did use to much pressure when I rinsed the engine off. I just let the hose run, i didn't use anything to make it spray harder

I'm still too frightened to do it.:shame:

1. Spray degreaser on a cold engine (avoid getting any on the paint)
2. let it soak for a few minutes
3. start the engine and then hose it down
4. let the engine run until it is dry

If the engine is running while you're hosing it off chances are water won't be able to get into any parts that would affect the starting of the car. Plus when you let the engine run and get hot, there is a low chance that the water will sit somewhere and corrode electrical parts, it will all be dry in 15-30 minutes.
