Cruise Mulholland?

I have been going up into the canyons in the mulholland hwy area at least twice a month. Usually its me and a buddy or 2.

I wanted to see if anybody would be interested in joining us.
We run fairly hard, so if your a canyon enthusiast this is the place for you. There are a lot of good roads out there with little to no traffic. I went out this past weekend in the middle of all the fires, and other than having the interior of my car covered with ash it was a blast.

hey carlos, are you selling all the suspension parts in your LT1? since you got an SS, why dont you sell all those suspension parts to me at low price:D :D :D

off topic | anybody here know of a good drivetrain/driveline related shop around the LA area?

i need to confirm that my driveshaft is causing the shake/vibration 80mph+ before i go buy an alum. ds

Hey guys sounds like we got some people interested.

Theres a place called Cooks.
There prolly one of the best in the southland.
I'll email you there info.
Btw if your not making over 400hp than get the aluminum driveshaft anyways, its worth the money.
The Chevy aftermarket one is the best bang for the buck.
Any gmperformance parts dealer can sell ya one.

RE: high speed vibration...Do y'all have the manual 6-speeds, and, if so, has the vibrations always been there since you two bought them?

If you bought the cars with the high speed vibrations, it might also be due to having the clutch improperly replaced...This causes high speed vibrations around 80mph and gets worse when you go faster.

It's just a thought.

But i believe a clutch problem would be rpm related and not speed related.
In other words if the clutch was causing the vibration i could put the car in nuetral and take it to 6g's and then get a vibration.
In this case it might be the clutch.
Our problems are at highspeeds.

It can be speed related as well, unfortunately, something about our f-bodies & clutches, something has to be balanced, I forgot what it was...It's happened before with other f-bodies on this site as well as ls1.com, mine is doing the same thing.

Dangit, I forgot exactly what it was! Once the clutch is replaced, I think it may have something to do with resurfacing the flywheel/pressure plate??? There is a certain way of doing this with the t-56 trannys...

sorry to stray from the original topic but:

Can the 80mph+ "vibeshaft" shaking be caused by the clutch throwout bearing ? I've heard the original clutch throwout bearing causes the common rattly noise when engaging 1st and 2nd gears (low speed). I heard it's a harmless noise that'll go away with a clutch replacement. Mine has 54k original miles on it. Despite all that I suspect it's the ds :rolleyes:
