Scan tool for a Jeep??

I posted this in here in case anyone has experience with the Jeep ECU. I am working on a project where we need to access the sensor readings. I don't need to change anything, just view the readings. Sorta like a freescan for a Jeep.

Its a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with OBDI I believe.

Yes, I've tried the jeep forums, but they don't seem to know anything about it. I guess they have their heads "stuck in the mud." ;)

Any suggestions?

I've never seen anything for a Jeep, but what engine does it have in it? Maybe you can use another vehicle type (350 TPI scanner perhaps?) that will work for the Jeep. What would really be useful is the id number on the PCM. If you can get that I might be able to tell you if another year/engine scanner would work.

Any generic OBDI scan tool shoucl be able to scan a Jeep.

He means more than just a scan tool, he is also looking for sensor data. He might be able to use a data logger that is designed for a Chevy vehicle, but more information is needed.

I will try to get the number from off the PCM in the next few days. The engine is a 5.2L V8 engine, not sure of the engine code yet.
DOOM Master is correct, I'm really looking for a software program to get as many sensor values as possible. Datalogging would also be extremely helpful, but not completely necessary.

Just fyi, What we are trying to do is build an unmanned vehicle that will drive itself from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. It will compete in the Grand DARPA challenge in march 2003. The vehicle must rely solely on sensor inputs and AI programming to decide how to proceed. It's not "remote controlled", it's autonomous.
