getting my bike license

it had to be done ... next year ... i'll be buying a bike ... cheapest fast things on the planet :D

so who else wants to get theirs so i wont be a lone rider at the meets ;)

I think you should make a will first, those things are crazy. And since 9s flat won't be fast enough for you, I know you'll slap on a nitrous kit.

there was a couple guys over on the stanger board that were selling theres.. newer style sport bike for pretty cheap... pretty nice lookin too.... but eh if i ever got a bike it would HAVE to be a custom chopper no doubt about it.

you missed out i just sold my bike a couple months ago. i have my license though. i want another but i think ill get a chopper next time. i was really into bikes when i got it but it lost its appeal real fast when i had to pay over 200 for insurance and it was 230 for the bike payment. so with a car it just cost to much. bought it brand new only had 2 km on it. 1998 CBR600F3. if you get a new one get the new 600RR it is low 10's off the showroom floor. my buddies cousin races a kawasaki. he is at mission sometimes at the street legals he was running 9.01 on his street bike but it might be in the 8's now and he runs in the 7's in think on his race bike. they are fun but i was pretty stupid on mine when i got it. i used to split cars and stuff even split 2 semis once and ill tell you right now dont do it. you'll probably have fun but it will probably lose it's appeal. get a chopper. fastest i ever went was 265 on it. if you get one you'll probably try it . its fast on a bike . ive been 240 in the car but 265 with nothing around you is fast.

I did the bike thing when I was 18 - 22.

I was a good safe rider - but after being almost killed a half a dozen times by stupid people in cars, I decided that I like having all my body parts.

Bikes are great fun though......although all I had was a lowly 1983 Yamaha Maxim 650.

Before I sold it, I had a friend ride it and race me in my Camaro.
It was dead even.

hehe .. i'll only start with a CBR600RR ... once i learn and get experienced i'll move upto an R1 with a nitrous kit .. so yeah it'll be faster than my camaro :)

but my camaro will be faster than most of the bikes on the road next year ;)

i'd say i 600RR will be fast enough for a long time. i would say you'd have to be really experienced to ride a R1 with nitrous. an r1 one with just a pipe will be faster then your camaro. even without the pipe.

Seriously, I'm siging up for the course in Jan with my Mom!!! Thats right...my mom! My mom is sick of riding on the back and when my Dad get a new bike this year, she gets the old one. I myself will be saving for a Harley Davidson to buy within the next few years.

Harley Davidson suck IMO.... its really just turned into a name thing....

Talking about girls bikes? yet your moms is going to be riding a hog? You can't even compare the two types of bikes, they are completley different then each other. It'slike comparing a 4 door family sedan to a 2 door sports car.

Anyways, I'm with Talos on this one, I can't stand HArley, especially now that they are affiliated with Ford. Screw Ford and screw Harley's. I'd rather own a Honda GOldwing then a Harley

I got a couple nice helmets 1 green,black,silver shoie,snell 90,size7 3/8[ paid $700. couple years ago]Also black HJC size med.Also black First Gear jacket size small.I'll take $200 for the shoie & maybe a package deal on the HJC & jacket[as they are great to have around for girls]I should also have a custom NOS kit I made for my ZX-9.let me know if anybody is interested.:D

They sell a kit which is pretty much everything but the drive train and controls. I'm sure they would build you one like that if the price was right.

I'd rather build one myself though. I'm thinking of taking up welding. I might try talking to Paul to see if he would sell me a copy of th blue prints. I'd save a ton of cash that way. I think the frame alone goes for over 2 g's USD!!

My bud has an R6 lyin' around that he wants to get rid of. It's missing a couple of parts, though, but he would let it go for cheap 'cause it's cluttering up alot of space. Call me if you're interested.

Wife and I are taking a Cycle training class Spring next year. IL offers them for free! I'm really not into the sport bike thing. I would love to get a full on custom but well see next year what I have the money for. The wife likes the new V-rod.

I got my bike license this year after being without it for 31 years [god I'm old]. Cost about $15 for the written test. $0 for the skill test and around $60. for the road test. No lessons, just a good partner was needed. Started the year on a 750 Katana and traded up to a new Honda 01 Erion Racing 929RR. katana was comfortable but no match for the 929. My 94 z is a blast to drive but the 929 is full race. Invest in all the safety gear and don't take your eyes off the road. Its about $120/mon. for fire and theft. I rode a Hayabusa this year. Lots a torque but heavy. Bikes are addictive.

My girlfriend and I were about to get our bike license this past summer but after thinking about it for a while, I knew I'd kill myself within a year. Two people I know were killed in the past year on them, so I think I'll pass.

When you planning to take your test Payam? Or are you still undecided (surprise, surprise :p)?
