This summer I got my car to the track and ran a best of 13.5 in hot muggy air at VMP. I did the free mods and put on a set of Nittos on 17X11 rims, pulled the swaybar, rear seat, etc, and headed up to Maryland International Friday night, looking to hit 12's. It was calling for rain late in the night, so I was crossing my fingers the whole way there. Just as I got to the track it started pouring and the races were canceled. I turned around and headed home (two hour drive) and once I got back to yorktown I was sitting on 17 when a jacked up Chevy 4x4 comes flying up on me revving like crazy. We caught the next light red, and I figured what the heck, he wants to see what a Camaro can do. The light turned and I launched hard, killing him of course. Then it gets weird, he flew up on me again, revving the whole way, then he hit his flashers. At the next red light he spun off his tires. I had nothing more to proove, the light turned green and I pulled away, with this idiot revving the whole way. He finally pulled off and his buddy in Toyota 4x4 pulled past me and gave me a thumbs down out the window...idiots.

The next night I was at the local hangout, and my buddy introduced me to one of his coworkers with a shiny '02 Stang. He had a similar story to my Friday night, he lightened his car up and headed to Richmond looking to break into a new time, but his goal for his Stang was to see a high 13! I LMFAO! I told him my LS1 saw 13's all stock, I wanted 12's now, he was shocked, said he didn't know LS1's could do that. Cool guy, felt sorry for him buying the Rustang! It was an auto at that, I doubt he will see a 13 w/o some major massaging.

Kinda depends, if it was a newer mustang like a 99 or up he wouldn't have to do too much to break 13s. Maybe some drag radials and a few bolt ons.

The "Rustang", ha, ha, should run high 13's in nearly stock form.

I was pointing out that the guy that made the comment about "Rustangs" running 13's is an idiot.

Ok, I will admit not to be a Mustang pro, but his current best is 14.6, and he was trying to hit 13's by lightening his car and airing down his tires. i have never seen a stock auto lower than low 14's, and I have been to the track quite a bit. I am sure they are out there, but I haven't seen any. Just like there are factory high 12 LS1's, and I haven't seen any of those either. I knew you Mustang guys would be offended, I respect all cars, especially American V-8's, I just thought it was ironic that I al looking at braking 12's at the same thime this guy is looking at breaking 13's. I wouldn't describe me as an "idiot" for doubting he'll see 13's all stock.

Look what I ran with my car with minimal mods. Again, correct me if i am wrong, but my understanding is that the ford autos are notorious dogs. If his car was a 5-speed I would be more likely to support his 13 sec goal. And again, he is shooting for this all stock. I know with mods a Rustang can do 13 easy, but with mods a LS1 can see 12's or lower easy.
