Hey guys... Ive been researching different insurance for my Z. I ran across a company on the web called Leland West Insurance Brokers, Inc.

www.lelandwest.com

Have any of you guys out there ever heard of them? Anyone have insurance with them? If so can you tell me anything about them?

I figured I would ask you guys since you live near there. They are out of Fresno, CA. They seem to be one of very few who offer "agreed value" insurance for any make or model car. Every other company I have been in contact with will only insure a car that is 20+ years old or older.

Any thing you can tell me about them will greatly be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

No, never heard of them. Right now I'm with progressive. Have had geico, 21st century, allstate, and eastwood. I'm not to sure what you mean by "agreed value". Have you tried calling progressive? I talked to them last sunday when I switched over my insurance. I think the might be able to help you.

Ok, well at least someone has heard of them. I just wanted to make sure it was an actual company because everyone around here I ask has never heard of them.

Guys my problem is this. First off I live in NJ... Thats the biggest problem. Insurance rates here are #1 on the "highest rates" list. With a clean record (0 pts), basic liability and comp only with a $1000 deductible I am paying just over $1000 a year.

Problem 2. I dont use my car on the street all that much any more. Its basically a toy for the track and I ocasionally cruise in it on a bright and sunny day. The car is trailered to shows and tracks. I have debated dropping the ins altogether. The car is garage kept. But if my garage burns down, or the car is stolen I lose everything. After paying 1k in insurance, 1k in deductible, my insurance will only cover to book value:(. (around 7-8k minus the ded.) By spring I will easily have over that in parts in the car.

So I have been researching other forms of ins. And so far have found nothing or nobody that will insure a car that is not 20+ years old. I ran across this Leland on the net and on their site it sayd they will insure ANY car... new or old. So I figured it was worth looking into. But I never heard of them, nor has anyone I ever talk to. I figured you guys might of since you live out that way.

I have exhausted every means I have to try and insure this car here.... no one will do it. I dont understand why. No classic car insurance company, I cant put a rider on my home owners ins, ect... Basically my only option now is to just drop the ins altogether and hope for the best.

I have State Farm Insurance and mine is set for a straight $15,000 after appraisal... not blue book value. You have to ask and make arrangements for an approved appraisal

I called Leland just to see if they could give me a reason as to why they wont insure it. Basically the girl on the phone said sorry but I dont write the polisiec... I just sell them. I cant answer your question. Se gave me the names of a few other companies to try but all of them I have already called, and no luck. Its funny because on their web site they have a section for customer reviews... there is a guy on there from NJ with a 96 ZR1 vette:confused:  .

I will call a few companies to ask for the apraised value, but I dont think NJ law will allow that. State Farm does not wite in NJ..... along with a majority of the other major companies. Geico wont either. Alstate does but their rates are out the roof!

I think my struggle to find insurance has come to an end, I have 2 choices... keep my current policy and pay alot of $$$ for nowhere near the coverage I need. Or just drop it all together and keep the car locked up in the garage for ever. Only to venture out when its on the trailer.

Thanks guys.
