Hey all both of my foglights blew out on my SS last week and i was just woundering how to replace them. I got them out of the fixture but there is this tan piece with teh bulb on it. Now do i replace the bulb or or teh whole piece that goes into the fixture? My buddy said that it was the whole piece but that doesnt make too much sence to me. The previous owner put aftermarket Hyperwhite bulbs in there if that makes any difference? Thanks for the help:)

Did they both go out at the same time? If so, it's probably a fuse or an overloaded circuit melting a wire somewhere.
As for replacement, I never pulled mine out before so I can't help. But, I'll look it up.

The bulb is number 894.
Just unscrew the trap door things located almost right under the fog light then I think the bulb just twisted out.

No, both the lights did not burn out at the same time, first teh drivers side went then the passenger side. I got it out of the assembly but didnt know how to get the bulb out. Like i said there is a tan piece that holds the bulb in place, and u say that i just have to twist teh bulb itself to get it out? Sorry for makeing this such an issue i just dont want to fudge up my car. thanks u guys:bow:

I meant twist the whole fixture to get it out of the fog light. I think the tan piece you are refering to counts as part of the light bulb and the new light bulb comes with that piece already on it.

My drivers side bulb went out last week, so i replaced it with a 894 but it seems much dimmer than the stock bulb which is 894x. Anyone else noticed this before? Wandering if the x makes any difference?
Thanks

One of mine just blew, the light had a bunch of water in it. The housing looked OK, I am not sure what happened. The local Advance Auto did not have the 894 bulbs, and they said they could n't order them either (wtf?) so I bought two of the HID blue rip off lights off EBay. It was like $11 for two, now I have an extra. They look just like stock to me.

$11 for two is a pretty good price.

here are the ones I bought:
Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2437344671&category=33710)
Just in case anyone else needs them. They shipped fast, had them in like 3 days from the end of auction.
