"GM ENGINEERS TO PRESENT INFO ON TWO NEW ENGINES
All SEMA Showgoers are invited to attend the GM Technical Seminar where GM engineers will present an overview of two significant engine introductions for the 2005 model year.
The new Ecotec 2.4L portion of the seminar will summarize this latest edition to the Ecotec engine family, which features cam phasing, increased power and a new application. Highlights will also be presented on the 2.0L supercharged and high-volume 2.2L naturally aspirated versions of the Ecotec family.
The new 5.3L Gen IV small-block engine for 2005 mid-size utility trucks will also be revealed and details will be given on the displacement-on-demand system it incorporates. Similar displacement-on-demand systems are scheduled for release in future model years in other engines, which will make understanding this first application important for the industry. All details of this new, high-volume truck engine will be discussed. A question-and-answer session will follow the seminar.
The GM Technical Seminars take place Wednesday, Nov. 5, 7:30 a.m., in the Las Vegas Convention Center, rooms N221-222; and Wednesday, Nov. 5, 8:30 a.m., in the Las Vegas Convention Center, rooms N223-224."
