From those pics, it looks like they solved the dual exhaust only coming out from one side of the rear problem.

Thats HSV... Is holden bringing out a AWD Monaro?

Also I've noticed some of the SSX styling seems to have crossed over into the Coupe 4

OK. I've cleaned most of the drool off my keyboard.

Let me get this straight. Australia has a population of around 20 million, and can support the Holden product portfolio but GMNA can't generate a viable business plan for a similar portfolio ...especially the affordable RWD/AWD stuff .... for a market of 300 million

There is alot more surprizes to come regarding Monaro (and other V-* series cars), as a couple of you already know. ;)

One model in particular will make about 15-20% of you very very happy. :)

Ok I’m usually the one asking the dumb obvious questions on this board, but does this mean we could see an AWD GTO in a few years?

GMNA could bring it over...It depends on the success of the current GTO, I guess

A long time ago, I got into a heated long running discussion with someone who felt the next Camaro should have AWD to attract "kids" (yea, I questioned that reasoning too) since the Skyline GTR did. My point was that RWD based AWD was heavy & expensive (the Skyline GTR cost about $65-70K).

Just found out the price target for the AWD Monaro. It's going to be about AU$93,000.

Translation: the AWD Monaro is going to cost a hair over $50,000 in US currency.

Basis of a future Cadillac? :)

GTO/Chevelle/Impala?

Holden was planning on making the AWD system for LHD cars, but they apparently didn't have the money to do both at the same time. The LHD version was delayed because of a lack of money. It should come sooner or later tho ;)

guionM, weight wise this system has added about 120kg to this car. I would expect they are only pricing it so high because of the process that it will be going through to be made.

From Holden's assembly line the Coupé 4 ‘body-in-white' will be moved to a special HSV body modification facility within the Elizabeth plant where the unique changes will be made. It then returns to the line to complete the normal rust proofing, painting and general assembly procedure. After transportation to HSV's Clayton plant each Coupé 4 will be hand finished in separate HRT-style workshop bays manned by dedicated staff.

This car also has a Pontiac GTO spec fuel tank located behind the rear seat. I also read a rumour on a aussie forum that one of the reasons it is only 270kw is the the transfer case (center diff) can't handle the power....... yet ;) The other being that the exhaust is more restrictive, but i'm sure the aftermarket guys will figure something out to fix that ;)

The other bit of news of late has been that the 'torana' or a smaller wheel base commodore is currently under development ;)

Based on looks, I think thats the best rendition of any of the 2 door V cars. Very tasteful.

That's great. Too bad it costs over 50% more. The AWD system couldn't have been the only addition.

That price is only because its a HSV so it comes with a lot of HSV parts etc.

If it was a AWD Monaro it would be cheaper.
