funina91ss 10-06-2003, 08:01 PM ok here is the deal ...
I work with a guy who has a 93 LX 347 ci trickflow R heads/cam Nitrous Works 175 hp plate. he has ran a best of 7.06.
I have a 95 TA stock bottomend with ported LT1 heads and 224/230 cam with a NX 150 shot. best I ran was a 7.13.
So here is the deal back when I was running 7.50's he wouldn't race me, said it wasnt worth his time (at the track). I will most likely smoke him on the tree. (my .5XX to his 7XX)
Know he wants to put more juice on it to out run me:rolleyes: (250 shot) I think it is because we made him so mad:D
So here is my question should I bump up to a 175 shot this will be a one pass deal. it will be a heads up race but the fastest time won't mean someone was the winner if one of us redlight we loose etc..etc..
what do you think the odds are of me putting it on him? I have ran my mouth for a long time and dont want to really lose this race but if I do oh well.:o
1QUIKTA 10-07-2003, 08:40 AM Sean, here is a little info for ya. Somebody that we know (you know who) was at Kuhn's shop yesterday and while he was there Adam called. He told him about the race and they are supposed to "fine tune" the N2O setup this week. He has something big planned and I don't think you will like it :( I really don't think someone wants you to win. I will be there with the camcorder to get it all though :) Be careful on the 175 shot, I would really like to get the Trans Am to Bristol next week.
BTW: Do we have enough time to get the 383 in before Bristol if you blow it?
FastZinTennessee 10-07-2003, 09:34 AM Jet it up and own his ass!!!
01CamaroSS 10-07-2003, 02:00 PM Stick a few bolts on bump up the N20 and Go eat yourself a horsey....
funina91ss 10-07-2003, 06:15 PM The rules have changed to best 2 out of 3 .. He is going down:death: I told him everything I plan on doing but he wants to be hush hush on his setup.. (as far as how big a shot) First he said once we start there is no poping the hood "I said sure". then he changed his mind... I will let you guys know some more detail L8R I dont have time right now.
Geezer powered 10-07-2003, 10:00 PM Don't be scared:cool: If you have a good set-up go with a 200 shot. I have almost 2 bottles threw it with a 200-shot and one crazy run with a 250 shot. Warning the 250 shot was only four 10 seconds:D and then was it back down to 200 for safty reasons:eek:  and yes this is on an internal stock lt1
BiGGinZ 10-07-2003, 10:25 PM funina have you got a dyno onyour 95 before. I would like to see how much power that thing puts down with a spray.

I have never had it on a dyno sorroy I will probally get on one at Bristol on the 17th.. If I dont mess it up before then.
I dont think the stock bottem end will like a 200 shot  Plus the trans is just a stock rebuild mostly. all I want to run is 6.90's in the 8th and 10's in the 1/4 then it will be time for the 383 (no I wont have time to put it in before bristol is something goes bad)
Pray for me that I dont blow something up!
Here is the advantages the LX has on me
1 347 strocker
2 trickflow heads "R"
3 edelbrock intake "FI"
4 C4 with trans break
5 3500 stall
6 355 gear
7 less weight
8 weld drag lights
9 his car only has 25k on it with probally less than 5k on the 347
the only advantge I have is
LT1

I hope you beat him and I hope you get your car dynoed. If you do tell us the numbers. Oh yea, your advantage is a lot better in my mind then his advantages. Good luck:D
Geezer powered 10-07-2003, 11:42 PM my stock bottom end does'nt mind a 200 shot, it even did'nt mind a 250 shot for alittle over 10's:D Well a stock rebuild tranny that may not like in the long run (I mean short);)
HeavyChevySS 10-08-2003, 11:02 AM be sure to post the results! win or lose!

Welcome to the board !!
Nice car you have and great short times with that thing!
No 1/4 mile times yet?
1SlowCar 10-09-2003, 10:36 PM No havent got to run any good passes yet .. It does pretty well in 60ft to have no suspension mods at all other than lowering springs.. heads, trans brake and rear to come this winter :D
razeak1 10-10-2003, 01:24 AM Tell him to come to Mason county if he wants something "worth his time" LOL what a cocky guy haha. He would kill my ass though :(
Anyways, Tim Casto who lives here, has a 347 95 Cobra, and runs 9.6 1/4 miles and drives it daily.

Is that Cobra black and run N2O? There was one at KV last year that made one pass and it was a 6.60.
1SlowCar 10-10-2003, 10:21 AM Yea thats it .. its pretty fast ... just wish I could afford to go that fast ... :D

1SlowCar 10-11-2003, 01:43 AM Who Won !!!!
funina91ss 10-11-2003, 02:22 AM okay let me sumup the night . First off I have to say Adam (LX) put up a heck of a run first time out was at 6:30pm
They put us on a pro tree! (man that thing is fast) I was running a 150 shot he was running a 175. I am just mad becuase his car hooks better than mine:p
Me LX
.803--- reaction time---.759
1.645-------60ft--------1.558
4.646-------330ft------ 4.573
7.196-------1/8th- -----7.120
96.09-------mph--------95.96
2nd pass I bump it up to a 175 shot:eek: he stays the same:D
LX ME
.694--- reaction time---.587
1.586-------60ft--------1.601
4.582-------330ft------ 4.574
7.802-------1/8th- -----7.090
66.75-------mph--------97.41
On this pass I could really tell I jetted it up another 25hp the car went sideways real bad off the line I am sure a few guys who where there will let you know just how bad:yuck: but I stayed in it and pulled off the best 60ft time I have ran so far:irk: and we were shifting about the same time all I knew was I was out front and then his car slowed down:( it would have been a real close race. And would of made for an even better 3rd race. After I parked we walked back to his car and he said the trans went out :death: ! So that made me the winner of the night not really the way I wanted to win but I guss a win is a win I think we will run again some day but he said he was done! but all in all we both had a good time! I was going to make a 3rd pass but I am going to Bristol Bash on the 17th and will save whats left of her there. the 10 bolt is holding up fine so far lets make 4 more passes on it then I dont care what happens to it. I will have vidoe's up next week probally. L8R Sean
Geezer powered 10-11-2003, 06:50 AM See,you should've had the 175 in there from the start. If it was me I would have strated with the 250:eek:
1QUIKTA 10-11-2003, 08:44 AM Congrats!! A win is a win. Those 2 cars together make for some awesome racing. When the vids get up everyone will see. Nothing like seeing it in person though. Heck with the 250 shot, Bristol is next week and the car is still together:D Too bad you slept on the first light. You may have pulled that one out with a 150 shot. I have to give props to Adam, that Mustang is SWEET!
1SlowCar 10-11-2003, 11:26 AM I heard that the t/a was cheating he put a bunch of stickers on there and must have added 70-80 more hp The mustang didnt have any stickers on it .. I want a rematch LOL

You sould surprise him and bump up to an even 200 shot but don't tell him!

funina91ss 12-10-2003, 05:28 PM I got the video's up now lol I know it has been a long time but here they are. 1st run (http://www.screamandfly.com/xtrememotorsports/firebirds/4th_generation/sean_foster_1995TA/video/TA_vs_LX_1.wmv)
2nd run (http://www.screamandfly.com/xtrememotorsports/firebirds/4th_generation/sean_foster_1995TA/video/TA_vs_LX_2.wmv) :)
LT1ponykilla 12-10-2003, 11:46 PM Man I just looked at the pics of your 95TA. Car looks nice but someone did a bootleg job of hooking up your nitrous. Lines every damn where. Anyways, good luck kicking that stangs ass.

Was that negative comment really necessary?? What if he was the one who hooked it up (which he was, I know first hand), I thought this was a post about his race, not about the neatness of a N20 install. Anyhow, that "boot-leg hook up" has almost gotten him into the 10's, so apparently it's not too boot-leg. He's been spraying for well over a year without a single nitrous malfunction, so the visible lines are probably the last thing on his mind. That car is a daily driver, not a show queen. Personally, under the conditions that he had to work with (cramped one-car garage), I think he did a pretty damn good job with the install.
Sorry Sean, but I couldnt help but take the comment a little personally (you know what I'm talking about) ;)
Back to the topic, are you and Adam planning on racing again, or does he even plan on getting a new tranny in the near future?? Later bro.
Joe.
1QUIKTA 12-12-2003, 08:22 AM Sean has never been into hiding the lines/solenoids of the N2O setup. It is setup to work on and or change the jetting without having to take everything apart. In person it is actually a pretty impressive setup. He doesn't have a worry in the world about trying to hide what he has and he will flatout tell you every spec on the car. It's run what you brung (as so many people have found out around here :) )
funina91ss 12-12-2003, 05:56 PM Thanks for the support guys I am going to clean it up a little when I put in the 383 oh wait most people don't think it is stock bottom end with over a 115k on it. The car is driven everyday to work, g/f house, track, home, etc. The camaro stays parked in a garage. I think the car is real impressive for what is done to it. yes there are a few cars out there that will out run it with less mods but they are light. NO AC PS CC ETC... I really like all that stuff too so I will not be getting rid of any of it. Did I mentition it is a daily driver?
