I'm currently living in northwest IL where emissions are not enforced on cars, but I'm looking at moving to the Milwaukee area and was wondering how well Z-28s can pass emissions testing in Wisconsin. Right now it's pretty much a stock LT1, but I was thinking about putting on Hooker Longtubes. I wouldn't bother making the upgrade if I knew my Camaro wouldn't pass testing. Any information you can give me on what passes in Wisconsin would be appreciated.

You won't pass with long tubes......

Thanks. If longtubes won't pass, does anybody know any power adders that WILL survive in emissions controlled states? Will they complain about having nitrous hooked up if it's not armed or anything?

Around here nobody does a visual inspection, so Nitrous won't be a problem if they don't see it. Just make sure you can pass the sniffer and aren't throwing any codes and you'll be fine. If you register around Milwaukee you MAY pass with longtubes, 2 cats, all emissions hardware in place and a well tuned car but it's probably 50/50. Just keep the car registered in IL but move where you want.

Is there a reason you want to move to Milwaukee? I say you should move to a town outside of Milwaukee where there are no emmissions. I live in Madison and there are no emissions, its a great town with tons of stuff to do and I can mod all I want.:)

I was thinking on moving to Milwaukee because my sister lives there. Things have changed a lot with job opportunities and such, but on one hand, I wasn't aware that it wasn't a state-wide emissions standard. I guess I always thought it was state regulated. That's good information though, thanks for letting me know. Madison is a good place too, I used to have a cousin who lived by the zoo. Thanks.
