Bottom-end build on smallblock V8?

How nasty would it be to build a smallblock 350 (i've got an L98) to run boost?

I'm assuming that i would need to go with a forged V8 crank and hardened pistons, but do not know for sure. What all is involved to run say...8 psi or so on an L98?

(i've just rebuilt it with zero miles as of now, with stock crank and hyper pistons...this would be a near future modification, if i decide to run with it)

There are guys running that much boost on stock motors, although some dont last long.

Esp. if you are intercooled, but even if you arent, you could probably just get low compression forged pistons and last for awhile. The forged pistons are nearly a must compared to trusting hyperucraptics with boost.

PM or forged rods are good and a forged crank would be a nice to have, but not "neccessary" in all cases.

Its all going to depend on how long you want it to last, how much power you want to make, and how much $ you want to spend (cubic dollars as i have heard rich krause call it)

ok, thanks. looks like i'll be runnining natural asp for a while. I have a local dude here that has a beautiful shop for doing alum-silicon internals, i think i might have a chat with him sometime soon, and get back to you! Haha.
