Freescan.......from Desktop to Laptop?????
I just downloaded my freescan onto my computer and tried to transfer it onto my laptop. I burned a CD of the data and then tried to install it onto my C:. When I did the program wouldn't let me install it. In fact after I tried there was some error on my computer and now I think I fried the hard drive. Has anyone had problems with this before?
i dont know you could have fried the hard drive, but if you ge tit going agian try downloading it to the d: drive on your computer and burn it to a dics from there. not your C: then to cd, but directly to D
or what ever your cd drive is) and then try and load it to the laptop.

You can't copy the program from one computer to another after you install it. You need to copy the original install files (the ones you first downloaded) to your laptop and then install it on your laptop. If this is what you already meant you did then I'm not sure what went wrong.
You might have screwed up some of your DLL files, doing a copy like that. As was already stated, you need to install it with the installer, there are specific DLL files that it has to access in order to work. You didn't fry your hard drive, but you might have screwed up Windows. You'll probably have to restore the system with your original factory restore disks.
