I am trying to figure out all of my ways around the OBD1 high stall problem.
Options:
1. Possible programming fix but, won't work on all cars
2. OBDII conversion but, expensive and will require expensive scaning software (Auto Tap)
3. 4l60/700R4 swap but, it seems like it is a hassle to make the VSS, TC lockup and computer work. Would the torque arm bolt up?
4. Manual valvebody 4l60e? I think I heard that you could do this to fix the problem but I can't find any info.
The car is a 95 z28 and is getting a motor built right now. It is a daily driver. It should make ~500-550 hp on N2O. The transmission needs to be rebuilt to hold this HP anyway. The computer has no programming yet but will get it via mail order. I don't have the money to do this wrong and then have to fix it. I wouldn't mind shifting manually if that is an option. What is my best route? It seems like a manual valve body would be the cheapest?
Thanks in advance
Dustin
