How important is a blow-down tube?

I am looking at getting a basic NX dry kit.
Adding either the MSD or Mallory Window Switch. Remote bottle opener. NOS pressure gauge. Filter and stainless steel hose. Purge Valve w/push button & vent tube. Fuel Pressure Safety Switch

Anything else I should get safetywise? Or is this overkill?

I would recomend getting a bottle heater also. It helps keep pressure up so you don't go lean. A blowdown tube is a pretty important safety device. If your pressure goes too high in the bottle, the blowdown tube will direct the nitrous out of the car so you don't inhale it.

Other than the fact NX doesnt have dry kits, what you said looks good.
Blow Down tubes are MANDATORY according to the NHRA for our cars......no seperate trunk.
Bottle heater is very important for consistency.

Oh, I thought it was a dry kit. Then a warmer is necessary. Do you need one on a dry kit?

I assume that the blow-down tube need to vent outside.

Doesn't NX make a dry kit at all?
