hey gang,
i keep hearing conflicting things about how much timing to leave in or pull with different power level shots. the motor i am plannign is a 10:1, iron headed, 406 inch motor, that will be shifted around 6500.
how much timing should i pull with a 150shot? a 200shot? a 250shot? a 300shot?
should i pull timing from base or total? i am runnign dfi, should the timing pulled be progrsseive or a set amount?

thanks guys,

later
tim

1 degree for each "25hp" added is a fair BASE to start with. You'll want FULL advance that you can use, then retard from there. I think you're over complicating it. You want to pull the timing only once the system is engaged. At that point you need to pull x* out, via an ignition box, or an add on to it....

DFI can pull timing on the bottle only, thats what he is talking about doing.

run as much timing as you can get away with..

2deg per 50hp is safe.
