Anyone know of good tint shop around NE Indiana??

I called up this place around here called pro tint and they won't do 20% tint :rolleyes: So anyone in this area know a good place that will do a good tint job with 20% on sides and prob 10% on back. Thanks for any help.

You might have a problem, a new state law was passed that anything less than 30% is illegal to have on your car.

I got my car done at Auto 1. They have locations in Elkhart and Mishawaka. The thing is, you will not recieve a recipt, nor get a warranty on the tint. That's for the darkest shade (10%?) I got 20 with no problem came out great. SO if you wanna cruise on up here and get it done they're a great shop to go with.

Mark: The best place I know of is a guy in New Haven that has a company called Auto Appearance. He will do your car for like $180 whatever you want. His office number is (260)493-9494 and his moblie is (260)740-1302.

thanks guys and i think ill try that one in New Haven first....since its a lot closer than Mishiwaka. I had heard someone in New Haven did it, but I just didnt know what it was called.

Mark, I used pro tint next to glenbrook. They did a great job, and it was only 140 with a lifetime warentee. I got the sides and hatch done in 15 last february, and i havent had any problems with the law. I also got the gf's neon done at protint, but heres was the legal limit..and i must say that was a waste of money.

I think protint changed there policy, because when i called... the lady went on about some bs how there was a new law and they're starting to trace back the illegal tint to the shops and can fine the shop up to 10,000 dollars. I have an appointment with auto appearence for wednesday and the guy sounded pretty cool and said he could do me 20% for like 150 after tax. Although I'm kinda thinkin now i may just go for 15% sides and back.

hmmm, thats different. I havent heard anything about the guy in new haven, so i cant say anything either way. Although i do drive by his store every day on the way to school.

is your appointment tomorrow or next wednesday?

it was yesterday..........he did a good job.......i ended up getting 15% sides and back and a dark stripe across the windshield that comes a little lower than the stock stripe.

I'm glad it all work out for you Mark. I'll be going there next year to get my car done. Have you been doing much to your car? I'm trying to get ready for some winter prjoects I have in mine!:D

Dan: i have gotten clear corners front and back, a 3 inch exhaust cutout, tinted windows. Its pretty much impossible for me to have any winter projects because i will be gone from november to March. Look out for spring though.....i plan on getting headers, 3.73 gears, lowering it, exhaust (not sure if true duals or just catback yet), wheels and tires (probably chrome 2000 vette wheels 17x10.5) and various other small things like trick flow elbow, the free mods, and probably gonna get my roof painted or a t-top conversion.

Basically all the money i get from signing up for the army national guard is all going into my car..... :D :D :eek:

Right now i'm looking to buy some heads to port myself. Then i'm doing a cam swap, opti replace, elec water pump, roller rockers, long tubes, and a new cat back.

pro tint did mine 5% back around dec. $140.00 had to go with no warranty tho.
