Chris, I should make it this weekend. I probably won't be in the Pacecar though. I got your message from Saturday night on Sunday afternoon and "No, I'm not going out tonight".:) I'll see you and Mark this weekend.

You said you'd be at the last one "rain or shine". What happened? Do I sense 'female' involvement? Hope it wasn't anything serious that kept you away.

Hope you can make this one. The forecast at this point looks like it will be a great evening.

I already had a bet with Linda that you wouldn't show, so thanks for the extra $$$ :D

You know, we really don't have an incurable desease. And the truck doesn't bother us either. Hell, I drove the Tahoe there the last 3 or 4 times - maybe more.

I think you should get your ass there and quit being so unsociable

Just got my first Z last week and if all things go well it should be on the road Monday. Previous owner let it go a bit so we are doing some fix ups. Glad to see some posts from somewhere near me. I know where Rock Hill is but have no idea about Tubby's. I doubt I would ever make it for one of the get togethers and would most likely be way older than most of the group anyway..............but, the reason I am posting this is that maybe some of you guys have some extra parts so I can save a few $$$$'s on trying to fix this Z back up. I am looking to replace the drivers seat (its torn pretty badly) and also thinking of getting a Lingenfelter or SLP CAI to put on here. These mods will be done as soon as we get the engine running like it should again. Got my fingers crossed that I can actually drive it some Monday :)

Well either way, at least post what time the meetings are at Chubby's in case my wife and I decide to come down and chaperone. LOL

...............wanted to add this while i was thinking about it, Got the car on the lift and found that the dustcover that covers the flywheel and starter area is missing so add that to the top of the list. I will check junkyards soon as I can on this as I do not want to drive it without that.

Glad to be part of the F-body crowd

Hey 95 z28 noob, like DropTop91 said, welcome to the madness

Here are some other sites that are dedicated to GM performance cars, particularly F-Body's:

www.carolinafbodyclub.com
www.scfyb.com

Looks like you don't need GMMOC's. There are others too, but you can only keep up with so much ;)

Good luck with the "restoration" project. Sorry I can't help with any parts you need. Just a thought: Have you looked in to having the seat recovered? If you could find someone reasonable it might not cost any more than buying used seats.

Now for the skinny on Tubby's:

First and foremost, at 51 I already have the chaperone job! :p :D But don't let that stop you from coming. The 'children' haven't thrown me out yet, so I guess it's cool :thumb:

Tubby's is in Rock Hill, SC just off of I-77. It's a quaint little bar & grill that caters to muscle cars and street rods (the walls of the place are lined with pictures of street rods). No Ricers allowed in the parking lot, although we usually get a few that drive by trying to break their rubber-band power when they do, if you get my meaning. This always gives us a few chuckles ;-)

We either set up a long table in the middle of the restaurant, or hang around outside at the large umbrella picnic tables depending on the weather. We just get together and hang out and have a good time. Tubby's has good food too, which is reasonably priced (except for their fried mushrooms). So if you're hungry you can get a bite to eat, but don't feel obligated to do so.

It's very easy to get to. From either direction on I-77 (North or South) take exit 82-B, which is Cherry Rd. Exit 82-B only goes in one direction, so you can't go the wrong way off the exit. Once on Cherry Rd. go through 5 or 6 traffic lights (can't remember the exact number, but it doesn't matter), which is about a 1/2 mile. Tubby's is on the right side of the road directly across the road from an Advance Auto Parts store, so you can't miss it. People usually start showing up around between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm this time of year. When we get into November and December it's usually ~5:00 pm. (Chris can correct me if I'm wrong).

Hope you can make it next month!

Mark

Hey Guys, another F-body noob here. Just got my 98 Trans Am a couple weeks ago. She's stock for now, but thats gonna change soon. She's midnight blue w/ dark charcoal leather, t-tops, M6 tranny and the optional 3.42 gears. I'll try to make it to the November get-together at Tubby's.

Welcome to the F-Body crowd!

Now is the perfect time of year to get some baseline times on that new ride of yours ;) There's going to be a track day at Rockingham Dragway Nov. 2nd and another event at Darlington Dragway Nov. 8th. You should consider coming to one (or both). The air in Nov. is usually nice and cool and dry, which makes for more HP! :D

I'll try to make it out to Tubby's on the 1st, although it's on a Saturday and I gotta work but I'll try to get out there. And I'll definitely try to make it to the Rock on the 2nd. No work on Sunday's, so as long as it isn't raining, I'll be there. Can you guys give me anymore info on the track day on the 2nd? Like what time it starts, what time it ends, how much it cost to run, etc? Thanks. Should hopefully get a few mods done in the next few weeks. Hope to do all the free mods when I get some time and I also plan on ordering a set of L/T's, O/R Y and SLP Loudmouth and Pro 5.0 Shifter by Christmas.

If you have any more questions contact the track. They're usually pretty good about responding.
