Overheating81_Z28_454 09-15-2003, 08:44 AM I have a 1981 Z28 with a 454 and she overheats like crazy, after about 20 minutes or so it gets upto 220/240 and stays there. Doesnt overheat to the point where it blows steam but acts up and i have to pull over. I have a 3 core rad in it(good condition) with good flow, new thermostat(165), head gasket isnt gone, water pump is working and I have an electric fan (2 12" fans), none of the hoses are leaking. Any more suggestions?:confused: grygst76 09-15-2003, 11:16 AM 3 things timing retarded faulty thermo fans are pushing instead of pulling or they are installed on the outside of the radiator instead of in 81_Z28_454 09-15-2003, 07:47 PM The timing is dead on, the thermostat has been removed as of today and the fans are attached to the rad, im sure they are installed right cuz a performance shop installed them. 406TA 09-15-2003, 07:51 PM Do you have a good fan shroud?
