What did he pay for his transam ?? How many K's ??

Kooks headers are nice and are available regular , or stepped , stainless , regular , regular coated , stainless coated blah blah . Just click on ls1.com and theres a link to kooks headers on the side with all the other sponsors . Flp needs to drop there prices IMO . Probably If I had the money in my pocket right now I would buy the Qtp with the Random tech metallic catted Y pipe  Just the Y pipe is 700 $ usd

Step headers are designed to give the best of both worlds...the torque of a small primary header and the high horsepower of the larger race header. Theystart off small at the header flange (eg. 1.75in) and increase at the "step" to 1 7/8 before the collector. Think of it like the bell on a trumpet...starts off small and increases size in order to amplify

Well, my answer is the Pacesetters from what I have seen. Anything else is a lot more money, and no better gain (maybe 2-4 rwhp for a stepped). I haven't seen Kooks or QTP first hand, and I am sure they are great, but they won't pull any better #'s. Perhaps their sound is a little different, but most clips I have heard, I can't tell the diff between Pacesetter, QTP, Kooks, etc... it all comes down to the sound of an ORP, the muffler used, and the cam.

If you want to be emmissions legal fully, get a pair of car sound cats for $50 US each, then get a muffler shop custom fab a y-pipe. Pay $330 for the headers (coated of course), $100 or so for the cats, and $150-200 for a 3" custom y-pipe.

I heard that the Kooks are the ticket. Also the QTP.The SLP are decent but have major clearence issues. TPIS also has nice headers. I wish the SLP forum was still open because there was alot of LS1 with headers that posted results on there. Just trying to remember which ones.

Kooks are very popular but I think quite expensive.

I'm going to try and find some time this coming week. I know my car is rich (11.5 AFR, I'm guessing), so tuning will likely be good for almost 6-10 rwhp. But I have nothing to tune with yet, so I will settle for untuned #'s.
