You can't just replace the speakers with the monsoon system. They will need an aftermarket amp or head unit to power them. How much you looking to spend?

I dont want to just replace the crappy monsson system i have now. I will spend as much as i need to to get it done right. If 1 was the crappiest parts you could use and ten is top of the l line i want to go with something around an 8. So anything around that quality to replace stock speakers.

Well, if money doesn't really matter. How about replacing everything? That's what it takes. The monsoon amp is total cr@p, and as you already know, the stock speakers are just as bad. How about a new head unit, a nice set of components up front and a single 10" powered by a 4-channel amp? Quality gear of all of this would probably cost around $750 not including wiring or installation. I suggest you install it yourself. It's very easy and we can talk you through each step if need be. Lemme know what you think. :)

I want to replce all the factory speakers in the monsoon with good aftermakret equiptment. I am going to be getting a deck with 45x4 watts. So what speakers, sizes, and amp would be a good setup?

Check out this (http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=374778) topic I answered earlier. That was a pretty cheap system. If you can afford better, then I suggest spending it on the components. The access line is great, but there is better!:D What headunit are you buying? Oh, and you won't need the PAC OEM-1 or anything with your system since you are replacing the factory headunit.

Are you SURE about not being able to replace the factory speakers... while yes the monsoon speakers are DVC, they are 4 ohms at each coil, so you can just cut the harness off the speaker and use 1 end of it to power a normal SVC speaker. in the case of the fronts, you can just connect both harness wires to each seperate component on the aftermarket speaker if you dont mind cutting a little. It does work and really doesnt sound bad.
Btw if anyone happens to have the specs on the power output of the factory monsoon Amp, I would be very interested to see them.
