Today was pretty slick. My 78 truck was hydroplaning all over the place. Had a few decent drifts going today but I am badly out of practice so I had lots of fishtails as well :D . When my (pos) camaro had the 4.56 rear gear in it was pretty exciting going into 3rd. 4th gear got a HARD bark with the aircare carb on. With the holley Im sure it woulda been a slide. And ya, this was in the dry, and ya you gotta love torque.

Yep yep yep, got to be careful on wet roads after a long dry spell! Roads can be slippery!

Yeah gotta love torque, my 3 cyl firefly spins them in 2nd at about half throttle, gotta love torque :metal:

Be careful with those sideways handles. They are known to blow tires and hit the wall sideways at the track. My firehawk tires are still gripping like glue even in this rain. I'm just wondering why I'm still driving the bird in this weather. The hawk will go into hybernation next month unfortunatly. We sports car lovers should live in California or Florida. :(

I stabbed the gas from a light in my 6000 today, and my digital dash went upto 60 kph before I was moving anywhere. Sweet.

Well all I know, is that I looked at my dyno sheets and I'm pretty sure none of you guys has 390# of torque at 2000 rpms. :D

Also I wasn't shifting into fourth I was cruising in fourth and then gave it a bit off gas. Either way i wasn;t expecting to get a wiggle on and it was kind of fun.

97, don't let these guys get the best of you, they are all just jealous. Those ae some great numbers in the torque department. It must make driving it a lot of fun.

As for a wiggle, well... I think you have suffered enough harassment. I will leave it alone!

The way your car drives in rain is no way to measure torque, now if you could do the same thing on a dry road you got something there :p but with your shifting  :p

It sucks after a long dry period because all of that damn oil over the roads turns the streets into an ice rink.......

I'm with you shaun. There's something really enjoyable about "effortlessly" letin loose in the rain/wet roads. No matter how you look at it, it is lots of fun.
However, I have to agree with Payam Joun, that doing the "wiggle" in the dry is the only way to justify a new name.

I bet u anything i'll have way more than 390 ft/lbs of torque if i unleash my monster at 2000 rpm ;) while u have to wait for ur hairdryer to "spool up with rpm" ... i can get a garuanteed 300 extra ft/lbs at 2000 rpm with the push of a button ;) .. now all i gotta look at is my NA ft/lbs at 2000 rpm

but last time i checked .. noone his the dyno at 2000 rpm  so im surprised u have a 2000 rpm reading on ur sheet .. must be them americans

:p just buggin ya man ..

... and on the 4th day, god says, let there be nitrous.. it was good
... and on the 5th day, god says, let there be blower... it was useless till he hit 5000 rpm, then he had to shift not to overspin it.. god uninstalled his blower and put the NX kit back on ;)

Dude, if you hit the button at 2000 rpm with anything more then a 75 shot, one of two things will happen. A Nitrous backfire will blow off your intake manifold, or you will detonate and bend a rod.

You know, that might just make them a little smarter...........actually, it's nate we're talking about, maybe not.
They'd get more business though. Nate would have to sell to us at cost so they wouldn't make any money.

Here is my second fastest N/A run this year...backed it up with a 11.85...if you watch it comes out spinning

"Sorry link gone" Johnny hook me up ;)

I have some more and soon I will have Cable again and will serve a few then.

Shauns car has at least 200RWTQ more left in it ;) I am betting anouther 200HP also :P

SID's car on the other hand is just looking flat nasty this year. I am stuck doing nothing for a few month's. Still looking for my 28# injectors at the moment. I packed them away some where and can not find them. Hoping to get them in and a WOT tune for at least one or two N2O passes this year. Hoping to get a 120 shot in it. With a good hook and weather It may run a 10 on a stock short block with Hypertec. pistons ;)

.......Then again it may puke its guts all over the track....

Either way TQ rules! AND blowers give it up the most. Hats off to what Shaun, SID and many others here are putting down ;)
