That does have a Cadillac feel to it, which is why I think that's it's probably close to the actual C6.

Me likey.

we could only hope...

I like that.

It's cool.

I hope the actual car looks a lot like that.

It looks nice, but is similar to the C5, just like the LT1- LS1 story:D

I like it...............I like it a lot. My only beef is the headlights. They look kind of odd but otherwise everything looks great. Everything seems to be consistant with the spy shots so this could be pretty damn close.

It's OK. The front is a little early Third Gen Firebird like. (The later Third GTAs did look a little Corvette-like too) The body looks pretty cool IMO. Of course though I'd like flip-ups, but then it would really look almost like a C5.

I'm torn. I'll reserve judgment until I see the real thing.

I like it, I wouldn't expect a drastic change for the 'vette. The exterior styling really hasn't changed that significantly for 20 years.

does anybody have links to the drawings that MotorTrend has been showing? They were pretty close to this...

I think it looks more like the ones they were showing 2 years ago than teh most recent ones.

I could probably live with that. Of course seeing it in person will make a difference. I'm not fond of the "carp mouth" that was appearing on other guesses.

Well, it has all the characteristics from the white beta cars...

The hood, the lines in the roof, the door handles, the fender 'rolls', ala C3...

All in all, I don't think it's bad... I like the fact that the front grilles are split, in the way most Corvette sare, rather than one big Tigershark style grille...

Still can't get over the exposed headlamps though... :(

COOL. They need to ditch the full frame side windows, and paint the C pilar body color, but other than that....SOLD! Still don't like the fixed headlights, but I could live w/ them. Much more exciting than C5, IMO.

Ah, yes, the retro bug bites the bright minds at GM, since it looks like an updated C3...

Eh... even I , a very loud Anti-Retro person, would say that isn't really all that retro... only the fender curves are representative of the C3... And really, all Vettes since the C2 have had fender swoops of some sort, albiet not as pronounced as the C3's....

What are you smoking dude? There is no retro in that car at all. Only styling cues.

Compare to Motor Trend Pic from 3 years ago when they said they had an inside scoop....

Also the Article...

http://www.autothing.com/funthings/funthings-futurecorvette2004.htm

Some quotes from the article that are expressed in the original pic in this thread:
From the chiseled nose, muscular fender flares, and trim posterior, the C6 exudes street-dominating attitude.
The glass greenhouse stretches to the top of the curved tail, making the C6 coupe appear more compact, though it's expected to ride on essentially the same 104.5-inch wheelbase.

What country is that from? I think that drawing looks much better than the actual test cars seen. I could only hope it turns out to at least look like that in that magazine cover u got there!

Actually, if you look at the actual test cars, that drawing carries over just about every visable piece from them...

Retro:confused:     That is 100% non retro, are you counting the 4 round tail lights as retro?? It looks more like a futuristic C5

The front looks too japanese. I do like the rest of the car though.

It doesn't seem right without the flip-up headlights.:(

Just going by that drawing, I think it looks decent. I too, think it looks a bit odd without flip up headlights, but I still like it fairly well. I suppose I'll have to see one in person.

You all know that someone will have the insight somewhere to make a pop-up headlight conversion kit. ;)

I did some photoshops of this pic last night. If anyone wants to see them I'll need a site to host them. It'll have to wait though, because I have class till about 4:30.

BTW, I think this is BY FAR the best unoffical rendition of the C6 yet. I expect (and hope) the car looks very close to this. Its very forward thinking, and has no blatent retro feel at all. I'm really starting to like the fixed head lights as well.

SageofKnight

I'm hoping the no pop up headlights are just a false rumor started by GM so that all of the concept drawings end up looking nothing like the C6 when it comes out.

...sigh:(

Okay, I went ahead and used my old website (wasn't sure if it was still working or not) to host the pic I made.

I went ahead and gave the car a wide opening like most of the test mules would suggest. I'm not sure which type of front end the final car will have, but I do hope its pretty close to this picture. The test mules camoflague could be a purposely done to throw people off.

Granted this really isn't any sort of drastic change, but it will give you an idea. Plus, I suck at photoshop, but it'll work.

I like it, very clean and consistent with the vette:bow:
