Angry I just joined the rebuild club

Finally got my SPEC stage 3 Ceramic installed (Centerforce went 2 weeks after intalling a Strange 12 bolt to fix my broken rear). I took it out to log some runs for PCMforless and the laptop wouldn't work. We made some runs anyway and noticed that it was making somwhere around 9lbs with the 8lb pulley and I also noticed a vibration at around 3k and it was running rich. This morning I got in my car to drive to work and thought I saw smoke in the cab. I hadn't tightened my shifter boot down and didn't see anymore so I kept going. BAM....saw it again....this time I checked for an oil leak (like the intake leak)....nothing. I pop the hood and saw a nice surprise....white smoke beautifully flowing from the valvecover hose. If I hadn't had so many disappointments with my LT1 I might have gotten upset...atleast a little bit. Oh well...I knew it was coming and have been working on a shortblock....just have to find some rods at a decent price now. What doesn't kill it makes it stronger.....MORE BOOST AND INSTALL MY JORDAN PORTED HEADS!

I welcome you with sockets and wrenches my son. I too am prepping my self for my rebuild as well. I havent quite blown my motor as of yet but im currently building another short block as well. I know it wont last to much longer with stock compression and only 3-5* degrees of timing taken out.

I drove mine for a couple of months and even raced it with bad ringlands. Just make sure you keep an eye on the oil. If you don't mind a little smoke you can still drive it until your new motor is done. Oh and welcome!

Yeah..been driving it today. The only thing is I look like a Train Engineer with that smoke coming from under the hood! LOL I'm kinda relieved that it went though. It hasn't sounded like a hotcam for a while and I have new parts anyway. I bought the 224/236 114 cam and some ported heads and really itching to pulley up that blower! They make a 15lb pulley don't they or atleast a race upgrade for the internals on the p600b?

well things can only get better from here on out, and hey its only money, I can't think of a better way to spend it.

SMOKNZ I drove my last engine with a blown pison also-mine detonated, the smoke wasn't bad at first, but after it started pouring out the tailpipe, I felt like a real redneck. THat engine honey sure helped, but not enough to continue driving on it.

Welcome to the club! Most of us blower people have been there at one time or another. Just look at it as a time to upgrade!

Good luck on the new setup. ATI does not recomend going to the 15psi pulley. The highest they recomend is the 12psi pulley and usually you will see betwen 12-14psi of boost. If you want to start making more boost than I would start looking at bigger blowere like the p1sc or the d1.
