Lowering

Just wondering if having your car lowered helps with the over all performance of the car, or if it is just for looks? Thanks.

Lowering you car offsets the standard center of gravity. This can be a good and a bad thing depending on what your looking for.
+'s: looks cool, removes ugly excess wheelwell area, cuts down on some air going under the car at high speeds.
-'s: you drag the front air dam, bang up your exhaust, suspension is stiffer, less wheel travel.

If done with good aftermarket springs (I have seen people do it with heating the stock springs) then you have a little better traction bite, less body roll, it seems to tighten the car up and lowering the center of gravity helps cornering.
