So the dealerships around here have been putting thier Oldsmobile signs back up after taking them down and a co-worker of mine insists that he heard that they were keeping Oldsmobile. This is B.S. right:confused:

Oldsmobile still dead?slt 09-03-2003, 01:06 PM So the dealerships around here have been putting thier Oldsmobile signs back up after taking them down and a co-worker of mine insists that he heard that they were keeping Oldsmobile. This is B.S. right:confused: Darth Xed 09-03-2003, 01:09 PM Quite the opposite from what I've seen... we had our local Olds shop pretty much shut down their Olds business... brought in Kia, and Toyota... All the things I've read say this is it, plus Olds' lineup is down to 3 cars for 2004, and they are having special editions of each car to send the division into oblivion... slt 09-03-2003, 01:37 PM Same was happening here and then with in the last month they put their signs back up. Different dealerships with different owners. who knows what they are thinking. Thought I would check nonetheless. Z28x 09-03-2003, 01:43 PM dealer by me stopped selling olds almost 2 years ago Jason E 09-03-2003, 07:25 PM Well, when I still actually sold Olds' (a whole seven weeks ago :)), these were the tentative timelines for death... Olds Silhouette - 1/04 Olds Bravada - 2/04 Olds Alero - 3/04 So more or less the last Olds will roll off the line sometime around the middle of January. Yeah, the brand is DEFINITELY dead... R.I.P. CamaroRSguy 09-03-2003, 09:12 PM I kinda wish they'd merge Buick and Oldsmobile, or atleast make them closer. Since Caddilac is going after BMW terroritory, then Buick is being moved up to fill up Caddy's old place, Buick needs some improvement. I think combining the two, with some buick styling, and some traditional Olds sportiness would do nothing but benefit GM. What I'm trying to say is some sporty, nice sedans, and some smaller Alero type cars out of this division. ALl of this under the price and refinment of the new caddy's. In a way they are, at least to a point... even though it's not 'official'... Olds Bravada fades away... enter Buick Ranier. Olds Silhouette fades away... enter Buick Tarazza or whatever the new Buick Minivan for 05/06 is to be called. Donutboy97 09-04-2003, 07:24 AM I think we will just have to wait on Buick to move upscale. if you think about it, we had to let Caddy move up before Buick can move up. I think within the next 3 years buick will be better than it is today guionM 09-04-2003, 09:24 PM Originally posted by slt So the dealerships around here have been putting thier Oldsmobile signs back up after taking them down and a co-worker of mine insists that he heard that they were keeping Oldsmobile. My prize that I got from the prize table was an Oldsmobile watch. It comes in little steel case. Very simple, nice looking metal watch. I get home, take it out, set the time and the friggin' thing does not work. It's likely just the battery but still...:irk: Jeff :o | ||
