T56 trans fluid?

having never added trans fluid to the 6 speed i figured it might be a good idea to find out exactly what to use before i go dumping in the same ATF i use in the TH400. :)

anybody have any recommendations? i dropped about 1/2 quart out the back when i took the driveshaft out the other day. i figure the easiest way to add fluid is through the shifter, right?

The T-56 does take ATF. I use synthetic. I do not know if you can add through the shifter. I have never tried it. I always have added fluid through the filler plug on the drivers side.

Yes, the T56 uses Dexron III ATF as stated on the sticker on the side. And yes, you can remove your shifter and add fluid through the top.
