Question about mufflerscrazymanz28 06-24-2002, 06:13 PM Ok I've got a set of full-length headers and all and I've been thinking about buying a set of Warlock mufflers. So I was woundering if they are any good and if not what should I go with? Charles9c1 06-25-2002, 10:10 PM How loud do you want to go? Personally like the 40 series flowmasters. But they are loud! Delta flow 40 series bark when you tromp on it but are quiet when you cruise. Not as tough as regular 40 series though but less interior resonance for sure. talos 06-25-2002, 10:12 PM go with the 40series delta flows... they don't make the regular 40s crazymanz28 06-25-2002, 10:54 PM Thanks for you input guys... AJ1978TA 06-25-2002, 11:04 PM Why do I keep hearing they don't make the regular 40 series anymore? I just got them 2 months ago for my car.... http://web.camaross.com/bb/confused.gif Flowmaster 40 series 2 chambers, "the original flowmaster sound"........All over in catalogs, etc. http://web.camaross.com/bb/confused.gif Btw, maybe look into Hooker Aero chamber mufflers, they are supposed to sound decent and flow great.....never heard them before, I kinda wish I had gotten them, but don't know how much quieter my car would've been, my car actually ins't that loud for some reason, I have no cats either.. http://web.camaross.com/bb/frown.gif The warlocks are able to be uncapped, I THINK that means you can bypass the muffler 100%, but then you have no backpressure and I think it will hurt the car... ------------------ 1978 Trans Am, Hooker Headers/Dual exhaust, flowmaster 40s, High Energy Cam, Edelbrock Intake/Carb, B&M Ratchet shifter, March Pullies, !A/C, !EGR, K&N/Xstream functional shaker, and American Racing Helix wheels.http://community.webshots.com/user/aj1978ta [This message has been edited by AJ1978TA (edited June 25, 2002).] crazymanz28 06-25-2002, 11:24 PM Well right now my car with stock exhaust is loud sitting still, on acceleration and decelleration. I wanna still have the sound in all three, just louder and better sounding. pink68 06-25-2002, 11:57 PM Toss the flowmasters!! Check out www.racemufflers.com (http://www.racemufflers.com) , they sound great, dont cost too much and no flowmaster or warlock comes even close to flowing as much as they do. Jim JST8A50 06-26-2002, 12:15 AM Yeha, forget about Flowmasters. Get some Spintechs. These things are awesome! Just had 3" x-pipe with Spins put on my 81 Z and it sounds soooo mean. My friend heard the car and is removing his Flows and getting Spins. I hear they flow alot better than the Flowmasters also. ------------------ 1981 Z28 12.97 @ 103.91 355ci.,272 HMV Crane am,Dart 200cc Iron Eagles,Performer RPM,750 Vac. Sec. Any pics of them installed? Maybe I'll see you at the next BCTFB cruise and take a look. BluEyes 06-29-2002, 06:44 PM what about glasspacks? talos 06-29-2002, 11:37 PM umm no thank, glasspacks suck teh wang... they have a ****ty sound and then will be toast within a year or so.... ya i don't really like glasspacks but thx anyways talos 06-30-2002, 01:37 PM zedzag: They allow you to by-pass ur system (mufflers and such) and it all comes out of the headers... Open Headers... VERY VERY loud... i have the ability to scare women, children and small animals... Charles9c1 06-30-2002, 01:55 PM Hey the cut outs are neat. How do they work? Are they the type with the wing style nuts on them that you uncork? If the exhaust exits near the chassis I imagine it would burn the paint? Must be damn nast sounding. Don't open them up in Richmond!!! Or you'll be busted sooner or later. talos 06-30-2002, 07:34 PM these are the ones i have.... U can't buy then in canada so u have to order for the US. http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/qtec.htm [This message has been edited by talos (edited June 30, 2002).] Camaro73 07-03-2002, 02:48 PM <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by JST8A50: Yeha, forget about Flowmasters. I have Hooker Aero Chambers on right now and I like 'em, but I've had them for a long time and change is good once in a while. ------------------ John '71 Camaro 350, 4 bolt, 212/218@.050", Edelbrock RPM heads, 3.42 posi, blah blah blah "Oh?
