I just got my NX kit on the car and have a question about the bottle heater. Can I keep it on all of the time? The switch itself (NX 3 piece) gets pretty hot itself. Leave it on incase I need it or turn if off and back on occasionaly? Thanks for the help.

Do you have a pressure gage on the bottle? When the gage goes under 850psi then that's when you want the heater on. Once around1100-1200 psi turn it off.

I only turn mine on when I KNOW I'm going to be spraying. Like, Fuels94TA said, when the bottle is up to pressure, you don't need it on. Most kits are calibrated based on 1000 psi of bottle pressure. Also, most heaters draw a good 15 amps of power, so it's a waste to run it for nothing.

I thought there was a thermostat that turns it off at a certain temp... I guess it makes sense to have it turn off by pressure sensor... is there a pressure sensor switch that can activate or disengage the heater? Anyone want to go into business???

There are fully automatic bottle heaters but they are about $250 vs. $90 or so for regular ones.

I have an NX heater and it cuts on and off automatically but didn't know if I needed to keep the switch on at all times since I can't see the bottle.

I would leave the switch on if I felt there was a good chance that I'd be running the nitrous soon, but I wouldn't heat up the bottle if I knew I wasn't going to use it.
