Power02-SLPRS 08-26-2003, 08:50 AM Anyone have any suggestions to beef up a 3.8 2? Already have cold air induction ordered w/ K&N. Maybe mass air flow sensor... faddis 08-26-2003, 10:16 AM I would start with freeing up some air...get a full exaust or just piece by piece...start with a catback...then headers...after that i would add a cam...then with the added power...get some gears and drag radials to put it to the ground...thats where id start 02-SLPRS 08-26-2003, 04:40 PM Yeah we were thinking about getting headers next summer, but we've been trying to save for Flowmaster or Borla. We'll probably start with the Y-pipe and work our way down and chrome out the Z28 tips (Unless there's somewhere I can just buy them in chrome?). I wish money grew on trees, I'd harvest like crazy! We're hoping the air will suck into the engine much quicker by the way the cold air pack looks like, it practically cuts down half of the stock system. What a waste of air! ImportKILLER 08-26-2003, 06:24 PM Dollar for dollar...nitrous. Power adder sticky. IXLR894Z28 08-27-2003, 09:22 AM RK Sport sells the Z28 tips in chrome. 128.00 for the set. 02-SLPRS 08-30-2003, 01:36 PM I need to get the RKsport catalog, because those tips aren't on their website. They were supposed to send me a catalog with my carbon badges, argh! CamaroRSguy 09-01-2003, 01:01 AM I'd stay away from flowmaster, you won't see much gain from a flowmaster set up. For the 3.8L, like all motors, it'll be as fast as you are willing to spend. You can get a 75 shot of nitrious, and some nittos and be quick. You get an intake, and full exhaust and be quick also. If you want to be a competitive car with some of the newer sports car, you can get a package from supersixmotorsports.com which includes heads, cam, ect. All depends on how much you want to spend. :D Satellite98 09-01-2003, 07:15 PM As mentioned before: Intake, exhaust, gears, Type R sticka's, headers, cam. . Forget the rest, the Type R stickers are the only things that you really need...but don't tell them that I said that ;) Omega9 09-03-2003, 03:57 PM Originally posted by Satellite98 Forget the rest, the Type R stickers are the only things that you really need...but don't tell them that I said that ;) The hell with type R! V-tec is the way to go. Throw in an APC sticker for good measure (preferably on your windshield). Cost = around $15. Horsepower gained = use your imagination. mike996 09-03-2003, 04:09 PM you cant forget those stolen acura symbols and some blue light bulbs!!!!!!!!!! CamaroRSguy 09-03-2003, 10:10 PM Do a B18 conversion. The VTAAAAK will destroy vipers. kevin 2.8 09-04-2003, 09:31 PM just drive backwards. everyone knows front wheel drive rules! 02-SLPRS 09-16-2003, 02:38 PM I think I have plenty of ideas now! Actually, the APC ****, and the rice burners are extremely popular around here. All the Auto Zone's out here are decorated w/ the APC logo. (Drives me crazy.) Is there anyone that lives in Michigan, BTW? | ||
