heavy chevyabates 08-24-2003, 12:23 AM which older car (50's, 60's, or 70's) has the most passenger & cargo room? CoryM 08-24-2003, 06:02 PM Gonna guess a Impala wagon. Probably a 70s. The biggest would be a suburban though. Even though they shared chassis for a bit  . CoryM jg95z28 08-24-2003, 07:54 PM Those 50's Belairs were huge... especialy the trunks. However the Impalas from the mid to late 60s and 70s were probably just as big. twozs 08-26-2003, 06:43 PM the top of the line chevy wagon in the 70's was called the kingswood estate wagon, top of the line with woodgrain, 9 passenger and all. can you say full size car? jg95z28 08-26-2003, 07:07 PM Originally posted by twozs the top of the line chevy wagon in the 70's was called the kingswood estate wagon, top of the line with woodgrain, 9 passenger and all. can you say full size car? Actually my parents had a 1970 Kingswood Estate Wagon. It was that ugly dark green color ;) ... but at least it had a 350! :D HeavyChevySS 08-27-2003, 04:55 AM I thought you were calling me ? HAHAHA Now I don't think my 72 velle is so heavy when compared to the previous mentioned cars. My El Camino weighs only about 3500 lbs. :) HeavyChevySS 08-29-2003, 11:26 AM Originally posted by JEDCamino Probably not. My El Camino weighs only about 3500 lbs. :) Is that stock weight? Does it have a BBC or SBC ? Does it have the 12 bolt axle and TH350 trans also? Thanks. I thought mine was tipping the scale around 3900 lbs... Never weighed it yet. It's a SBC with iron heads, stock 12 bolt, TH350, steel wheels, stock hood, fenders, etc. It had AC but I removed the compressor and condensor, so that saved maybe 30 or 40 lbs. A Chevelle may be a little heavier since you've got more glass and interior stuff. But then again I've got alot of sheet metal that makes up the bed... HeavyChevySS 09-03-2003, 08:34 AM Originally posted by JEDCamino It's a SBC with iron heads, stock 12 bolt, TH350, steel wheels, stock hood, fenders, etc. It had AC but I removed the compressor and condensor, so that saved maybe 30 or 40 lbs. I need to find an accurate scale around my neighborhood so I can weigh the car. I wouldn't be surprised if it were around 3900 or so. Then again, I would be pretty excited if it were lower, say around 3400. I know of another chevelle owner on this board who says his velle weighs 32XX lbs. Normal weigh reduction. That's pretty cool if ya ask me. JEDCamino 09-03-2003, 04:50 PM I just weighed mine at the local Co-Op. My Ram weighed 4400 lbs. :( | ||
