drive shaft maybe

i got a 95......... 3.4 stock camaro...... today while starting vacation driving to Texas from Illinios my car started to rattle from underneith along the drive shaft. at high speeds 70 you could clearly hear it. then while breaking it sounds like its raming against something........i also know my oh what is it called rear end gear thingie was leaking fluid so maybe its empty of fluid.... could that cause the noise. where do i check the fluid level can u grease the two piece drive shaft or what should i do? any help would be great. :cry:

it could be your u-joints...but its probably the same problem i had...its your rear end bearings...its about 100 bucks for the set...but then you might as well replace the axle bearings while your at it...thats about another 50 to 75 if i remember right...there is a bolt that you can remove from the rear end...thats where you will refill it at. buy a book from pep boys like i did...its pretty simple.
