I have an 01 SS and I am interested in adding forced induction. I dont care to get max power or push the thresh hold and have to worry about drive line failure. I reallize none of them are a snap click instalation but I would like to hear oppinions on whitch one is best for ease of instalation. Also I am open to suggestions on Turbos, I hear the LS1 favors a Turbo? I have a basic/entry level knowledge with forced induction so this will be a learning experience for me. I appreciate Any suggestions/comments that you might have.
Thanks for your time.

I will have to agree. They also have nice intercoolers too. Be ready to do some modifications though. Nothing in this world is a direct bolt in, especially on an F-body.

The ATI ProCharger installation on a LS1 is much easier than on a LT1. The directions are more complete amd the whole kit is much easier to install. This holds true for the Corvettes as well. On LS1's the ATI ProCharger is a true bolt on, that is very reliable and will last for years. :)

The Vortech and ATI kits are both very popular but the ATI will be easier to install. Vortech has two boost options available - 6# (100-110hp gain) with no Aftercooler and 9# that comes with an Aftercooler (140-150hp gain). These two kits come with everything you need for the install (injectors, fuel pump and programming)
ATI has a 4# kit that comes with everything you need (uses an FMU). This will give you about 80-90hp. Most people usually go with their 5/7# kit. Gains from this are 100-110hp for the 5# and 130-140hp for the 7#. And then there is the D-1SC kit that makes 8# of boost and will show you a 140-150hp gain. These kits require injectors, a fuel pump and custom programming. The D-1SC works well on modified cars or if you are at a high altitude.
Hope this helps,
Tom
