There are several companys that offer turbo kits for LT1s, just bring boat loads of cash and you should be fine.

he's thinking about swaping to t56 tranny, not sure about the bottom end and the top end, as far as the bottom end, he will go with forged internal bottom end, again not sure which brand.

his budget is around $10,000 for strong engine, tranny, and 12bolt/9 inch....

will he ever make it?? he wants to run 10's or low 11's

I can set you up with one of our STS turbo kits for about $3000 if you'll do some testing and feedback for us. It installs in about 3 hours. Our 93 LT1 is running in the 11's at 4300' elevation with 2.73 gears, stock heads and cam, 8.7:1 pistons and a 2200 stall converter at about 10-11 psi boost. Call if you have any questions.

Thanks, Rick @ STS

Rick,

I haven't heard anything in a long time about your turbo setup. Do you have a site or other message board that is keeping up with it. I might be interested here soon. I'd gladly do some testing and ADVERTISING for you.

I've been off the boards for a while busy with business stuff. It has actually been nice to not have to spend 3-4 hours a night on the computer - was getting burned out on that. We are busy getting ready for the SEMA show and have been doing lots of truck kits. I finally dumped all the web and marketing guys and have been putting it together myself which has taken a lot of time. But it is getting done! Our site should be done in next couple weeks.

Talk to you all later,
Rick @ STS

We put 8.7:1 turbo pistons in, a set of LS1 rods, Oringed head gaskets, and 1.6 rockers. Other than that engine is stock. Email me and I will send graphs and 1/4 times with comparisons if you want.

I was pretty suprised when we ran the car cause it ran almost identical times to my Chevelle with .625 roller cam and roller valve train w/ rev kit, Dart heads, Victor Jr, 8.4:1's, Carillo rods, Race trans, 4.11's, front mount hi-flow custom turbo running 17 psi boost. It runs 11's all day on slicks. Turbo system efficiency is the key. The Camaro makes more HP per pound of boost.

Trying to talk him into going to the salt flats, as they are running out there this week. 2.73's w/ HP to run 11's. That thing ought to go about 200. Car is real nice though and he's not real anxious to cover it with salt.

Thanks, Rick @ STS
