'69 Z-28, having problems with oil breather passing a lot of oil, keeps running down valve cover, etc. PCV system working OK, but if I plug the other side with breather, it blows the PCV valve out of the cover. Is there any way to eliminate the excessive oil and / or pressure?
Thanks

How many miles are on this engine?
sounds like it could be excessive blow by.

It's a 350`with 30K on it, and it doesn't use any oil, just seems to have a lot of crankcase pressure. Is there any type of breather that would release the pressure, but not blow oil all over?
Thanks

The 69Z's had a special high performance PVC, are you sure you have the right part number valve. Also do the valve covers have the baffle under the breather or is there just a hole?

I'm not sure about the part number on the PCV, but it's the one that fits in the valve cover grommet; and no, there is not a baffle on that side, it's also the oil fill hole.

Only other thing that I can think of is for you to check the vacuum where the PVC line connects to the carb/manifold. You might also look around for a better breather with some internal baffling. As a last resort there are some after market systems for crank case ventilation. (Moroso)

I had the same problem...except on my blown 383..I have valve covers with no baffle..so a friend of mine fabricated some out of thin aluminum.. took the car out last night and cruised around..ran though the gears... checked the valve cover and there was no leak. So the baffle took care of my leak problem.
