I was just gonna check out my timing and realized I didn't know where the #1 cylinder was on a Chevy(I'm mostly a Ford guy;). Thanks for the help.

How in the good lord's name are you supposed to loosen the distributor on these things??? I guess I'll either have to take the valve cover or the carb off to get to the hold-down bolt. I can't get anything in there.

you probley don't want to hear this at this time of night, but they do make an "L" shaped wrench that fits right in there. they are sold just about everywhere

Ive never had a problem getting in there with a wrench  Its a little bit of a pain in the ass but no pig deal.

My tall sheet metal valve covers and nitrous solenoid in the way doesn't help.;)

I took a cheap wrench and bent it to make it work.. Just keep it in the tool box for later.. that way you don't have to buy another one.
But thats when i needed one right then, if you have time just go and buy one :-)

Yeah, those L-shaped wrenches are very helpful. I can't get to my hold-down bolt at all without one. :) Now if I could just figure out how to get the back passenger side header bolt out without removing the valve cover.....
