rskrause 08-17-2003, 07:13 PM Well, it's almost done. All I can say is that the F1 really "sucks". After tracing a low boost condition to the three inches or so of orange "dryer hose" ATI supplied used to mate the hard rubber intake part to the blower we fabbed a rigid (metal) replacement. This got us boost up to 5,200rpm instead of 4,500. But at that point, the remaining intake pieces also collapsed . So now it's one more fab job and it will finally be really and truly done.
I think it will all be worth it though. We tested it in speed density mode and with no intake restriction, it made 22psi at 6,000rpm and was still rising. Even with a loose converter/automatic combo it made good hp. And that was without the N2O. But if you think of a Procharger F1 on a 4th gen. LT1, think again. It is far from a "bolt on".

1LEThumper 08-17-2003, 08:11 PM Can't wait to see how it turns out.
But you know, I don't know of many blower kits that are truely bolt ons......I don't think there is much left from my ATI kit on my car.
steve10358 08-17-2003, 09:35 PM Damn Doc!! That's 440hp worth of power adder alone, before N20!! You'll be in the 8's for sure!!
Btw- do you have any pics of your orange tube replacement? How long did it take to make? How'd ya do it?
Hope all is well-

There is some of what mine looks like. I wish I could get it up higher to get a better pic of it. I'll see if I can't get it on a lift and get some more pics of it. There are more pics in my sig.
I believe its 3.5" all the way to the blower, then it goes to 4" right behind the intercooler and into a 4x8.75" K&N filter.

Steve: didn't take any pics, you can have a look for yourself though! It's 4", the same as the SC intake.
Hope things are good with you as well. You should come over for a cigar sometime.

Are you running a 12-rib setup with your car?? Did you have any problems with getting your crank pulley to align with your blower pulley??

I know! I know! I keep promising I will, but for the past month, every second I have, at a reasonable hour, between 12 hour shifts... has been under my car. lol.
We'll get together soon bud. :)

Yes, a 12-rib. The alignment was off, we had to fab up a spacer. The belt interfered with the radiator fan and this also required some work to provide clearance. Like I said, this was far from a simple bolt-on!

IDOXLR8 08-18-2003, 09:43 AM Trust me I know. I have been their :) Do you remember how thick of a spacer you had to use? I am currently running a single 6-rib belt on my car because I my misalignment issue.

No, but I would say you need to measure your own anyway. Seemed like ~1/8 of an inch though.

I think the track times will be more impressive than the dyno numbers. The reverse of last year. The loose converter seems to eat up a lot of hp, so the mph may not improve much but the ET should!

They will kick me off the track for sure if it runs nines, so I am aiming for 10.00. Last year was 10.66 @ 135mph with a race weight of 4,100lbs. Sounds kind of like a Poopra  doesn't it? The high mph relative to ET was a function of granny shifting the T56.
