does coolant go through the late TPI intake manifold?

It should. My intake manifold has a gasket with a few extra holes in it for that. When the gasket blew once, there was coolant all over.

I have the SR intake manifold and that is what they use for the vettes, I believe.

Only the base manifold....the runners and plenum don't pass any coolant but the throttlebody does if you haven't bypassed it.

I think on the stock TPI manifold, there is no coolant in the rear, but on the aftermarket ones, there is. I might be wrong.

There's coolant front and rear on both stock and aftermarket intakes.

I just went and looked at a stock '87 intake I have, plus my old '91 stock intake, and neither one has coolant passages in the rear. I know my TPIS intake has it. I cant speak for stock 85-86 intakes nor for Corvette stock ones.

I stand corrected. I just looked at my stock 85 intake, and there is no coolant passage in back. After examining the intake, it's not likely that ANY TPI intake has them... the runners are in the way on the driver side.

Speaking of 85-86 TPI intake manifolds, anybody have one for sale? I need and '85-86 to go on a 355 '72 block w/ pre '87 heads.
Thanks!

I've got one from an 85. Came off a clean 85 IROC. I've got the rest of the TPI setup (minus harness and a few sensors) to go with it if you want it - dirt cheap. Make an offer - trades welcome too...
