Hello everyone, it is time to replace the 700R4 in my 92 RS w/ 305. I've been quoted about 1500-2300 for a rebuild from many shops out here in Colorado. I found a shop I like and have been recommended to that will install a 700R4 for about $350 if I get it else where.

So has anyone used a transmission ordered from an online vendor - 700r4.com for example?

Any help would be appreciated as I don't really have the money to replace my tranny but I can't do without my car.

I've heard nothing but neggative feedback from them. I got mine from pro-built automatics and it supports up to 600hp and comes with a 1 yr warranty. It shifts hard when you race and calm when just driving. I recommend it.

i might be parting out my 91z28, it has a professionally built 700r4 that should handle 700+ hp. the motor that it is behind puts out 730hp (supercharged 383). this tranny is complete with top quality parts. i would rather sell this tranny and put money towards a manual. the trans has only been in the car since the rebuild of the motor = less than 100 miles on it!

selling price if interested $900 + shipping
i live in southern california

I have one in my basement that I rebuilt. It was never installed and I would like to get rid of it. You would get raped on shipping it to colorado though. Let me know if your interested.

www.rosslertrans.com did mine. Lasted 3.5 years behind my LPE 383 with me beating on it.

Can't say enough about my new Pro-Built "Limited Street" 700R4 trans:D Soft shifts at part throttle and quick firm shifts at full throttle. Definately not tire-shredding gear changes but they're really quick. He's a cool guy to deal with and pretty knowledgable over the phone.

Ok, so mine is going to need to be rebuilt soon as well.
Should I just get a local guy here in town to rebuild it? What should I expect to pay for this? Also should I get my own rebuild kit for him to use?

My car is on my website
