Gutting my Cat?

I am thinking about gutting my Cat is it going to make it alot louder or not that much? Also is it going to give me any gains what so ever? And is it a big chore?

it will make i louder but it will sound good.i just removed my cat instead of gutting it

don't gut it, use an off road pipe, gutting it will ruin your cat and the exhaust gases will swirl in the cat creating more back pressure. you can buy a piece of pipe from summit or where ever.
