HELP !!!!panterachik00 07-02-2002, 09:24 PM i just bought my camaro z28 a few days ago, the guy i got it from explained the car had been sitting for awhile, it smokes a little now and again, and it has a strange fuel smell that comes and goes i think from the exhaust. I bought fuel injector cleaner, and the smell is still there. It's likely the gas odour is coming from your engine not your exhaust.. Sounds like you are running rich. Does the problem ever go away (ie at higher RPMs)? Do you get really poor gas mileage?
