Turbo/Supercharger Help needed ASAP

Hey everyone..let me just state here i am no looking to start any fights or anything..First of all im 18 and i have a 94Z...i am wanting to get some more power out of it, and i really dont wanna do nitrous right now. So i have been looking into Turbos and Superchargers. My car is basicaly an all stock motor. I was wondering i really DO NOT wanna completely re do my motor, so i was wondering what would be better Turbo or Supercharger. I have been looking more into the superchargers, actually the Procharger is what i am leaning towards. Like what all do i have to do to get it working properly. I really do not know what else to ask, but if i think of something i will ask again. Thanks alot in advance for everyones help...

If you really don't want to or can't afford to risk your motor I would stay away from forced induction. All it takes is a single episode of detonation under boost and you may be joining the rebuild club.

You could run up to 6-8 lbs of intercooled boost and last for a while if you tune it right. If you are dead set on forced induction, and want to stay as "safe" as possible, I would go with an intercooled 6lb Vortech S-trim, or a 4.5 or 6 lb powerdyne blower.

I don't know much about the various turbo setups out there (or lack thereof) so I can't comment there.

good luck!

I am one of the very few that had a blower on a daily driven car that lasted a very long time, and for you I would still say build up the motor first then do the blower. That is unless you have a couple of grand laying around to spend if all goes bad. But for the 3-5 grand that you were going to spend on the blower you can pull the motor put forged slugs in, get the heads done. setup the valvetrain, beef up the tranny(not sure if yours is a auto), get headers, and a cam. In any case look through the archives for similar posts and the such. Good luck.

I would do a stroker or just heads and cam to start. You dont want forced induction unless you have everything to back it up. To make everything work propar plan on spending about 30-40 grand. Then you have somewhat of a reliable daily driver. I have some picts bellow but have to head to school inorder to get the finished picts loaded. I started out four years ago bone stock moving my way up the ladder. So take it from me start out with heads cam. Then do the drive train. Then spray the motor, if that ever blows and you have to pull pistons etc. Then think about forced induction.
