needs wings 08-01-2003, 10:21 PM What to use for that true mirror finish? My car is a sunday driver in nice weather and never sees rain or snow. It is also garaged. What is the very best product for that mirror finish that I can bragg about. Are there any suggestions from personal experience ( no professional sales please ) .
Z28 97' 08-01-2003, 10:53 PM Check out www.zainobros.com (http://www.zainobros.com), its with out a doubt the best product I have ever used, and the shine and durability is unbeatable. Try it, you will not be let down. :)
iamsparc 08-02-2003, 12:46 PM I'll have to vouch for the Zaino too...The thing with it, is it's like a "car condom" in the amount of protection it offers...but for those of you that just want the shine...it performs as well or better than anyone else. It's good stuff...just check out pics in my sig for proof.
Marky82 08-02-2003, 04:30 PM Check out P2S1....also called S100. It offers extremely high shine but low protection. Check out the show and shine forum....the guys there have tons of experience with all different types of polishes
Brent94Z 08-02-2003, 05:52 PM I'll move this over to the Show and Shine forum...
Error 08-02-2003, 05:59 PM For store bought, Meguiars Gold Class is pretty damn good. Should last a while on a garaged car too.
But yeah, I use Zaino. I've tried dozens of polishes/waxes, and this is my personal favorite.
Lifechanger 08-02-2003, 06:48 PM I've only been into my Camaro for a couple months, but I found Megulars Gold terrific for a lazy kinda buffer shine...one of the few I've found that doesn't swirl, just gets brighter and brighter if you keep your final covers clean. I also like 3M's Wet Polish for a very quick and deep shine....I use both, plus Mother's detailer for interim shine. It's fun....and looks good in my mind...but....my mind is 69, so caution be the motto. I have a few pics of the ol' 88 Camaro....it hadn't been washed or waxed in months (no garage, in Chicago)...and when I first started machine buffing the cute, but ugly thing...dripping some "Gold" into it, I was darned amazed as I held the undulating buffer with one hand, and a bloody Mary with the other!! A true workaholic, carwise, I am.....

You like Jaco? I have his fingers do the walking as you view my site, with a great group headed by Herbie Hancock in tow.
Zaino is much promoted on this board, but I haven't been "tipped" yet, cause I been nonchalantly dripping on the "Gold" and 3M Wet Polish...... as I dig the "revolutionary sounds" from my jazz statiion here in Chicago, while merrily buffing away. Take me half an hour to circle the whole car twice!!
I'm a jazz synth guy...and, guitarist...well damn, just got a brilliant thought....think I'll try some of that stuff on my axes!!

I've been up since midnight playing my guitars, and I remembered this. At 5am I took my Les Paul and my Gibson SG into the garage for some Meguiar's Gold Class.... all I can say is :D - make sure you do the neck 3 or 4 times, it's soooo smoooooothhh!!!!!!
Error 08-03-2003, 10:32 AM Hehe, I dare not list the things around the house that have met the wrath of Z1/Z5 :D
Someone posted a pic of a diamond plate guitar that he polished. It was awesome.
Kevin V 2002 SS 08-04-2003, 09:34 AM ZAINO!!!
Darth Xed 08-04-2003, 09:38 AM I love Zaino.
It shines as good as anything else after one coat, but the great shine benifit is that it gets better and better with each coat.... that puts it above and beyond everything else, IMO.
Truely the best stuff I have ever used...

Couldn't have said it better! ;) :p
Zaino.....for a bright, deep, mirror shine, and total protection.
:)
White Z 4 Show 08-06-2003, 12:34 PM Isn't Zaino only on the West Coast? I have never seen a bottle of Zaino in my life and I've been up and down the east coast for car shows. (maybe I just missed the store they sell it in???)
For East Coast shine, try Meguiars Gold is the best thing. Try using it like this.
Wash it with Meguiars car wash/detailer.
Use Turtle wax to take the old wax off (VERY important)
Then use Meguiars Gold to wax the car. Take your time. I usually do a 1 foot X 1 foot area then move on. I have a 1994 Z28 with factory artic white paint. I drive it everyday to work, weekend, etc. I've gotten compliments of my car is a '97 model.
Zaino is very popular but I see your in North Carolina and I don't know if we carry it over here. Get some if you can, if not, go with Meguiars.

Zaino is actually based in New Jersey!
Zaino is not sold in store... have to buy direct or from a distributor.

Hello,
Actually Zaino is sold nationwide by various distributors and also from the home site at www.zainobros.com. In fact there is a distributor in your state and here is her contact info:
Lynn Kennedy
Chesapeake, Va.
email: tkc@series2000.com
I believe Zaino is also sold worldwide in places like Germany as well. :)
You will not find Zaino on store shelves, unless it may be a specialty store that is also a distributor, like a local speed shop.

hcvone 08-06-2003, 05:02 PM Zaino is sold world wide, but there is more Zaino sold on the east coast than the west coast. ;)

Sorry... was reading the reflection in the car.
Order it online, UPS delivers. I like the brown truck...

Allen66 08-08-2003, 02:40 AM Go with Zaino and don't look back.
94NDTA 08-08-2003, 11:51 AM If you don't drive it a lot, I would go with S100. I like my Zaino and S100 equally, but s100 is easier to apply and take off IMO. Zaino lasts longer than S100. The blinding shine is about equal. S100 is cheaper. If you drove your car more, I would suggest Zaino.
Allen66 08-09-2003, 02:50 AM S100 must be easy to take off then.
94NDTA 08-09-2003, 11:47 AM Oh, it is, especially if you have Zaino underneath it;)
White Z 4 Show 08-11-2003, 03:27 PM thanks for the update guys.
I usually see west coast people talking about Zaino the most so I "assumed" it was sold mainly on the west coast. if I ever run across some I'll be sure to get it but I don't like buying products offline. I'm just a chicken when it comes to that. (glass is half empty, not half full).
my beer glass is half empty, REFILL IT before it gets worse! :D
