It looks like DC realized that there is little-to-no profit to be made in small cars, (unless of course you build them in Korea or China) so they will most likely bring out a Smart SUV in the US in 2006/07 that will most likely cost close to $20,000+ with real-world options to be sold along the little $15,000 four door hatch back.

Even GM has realized this by moving the Saturn brand more upscale with more expensive cars that actually turn a profit, they just need to sell more of them.
I wouldnt be surprised when the Toyota RAV4 gets completely redone in 06/07 that it returns as a $20,000 Scion SUV since Toyota is bringing out a sub $20,000 retro SUV built on the Tacoma truck chassis around the same time.
