Fixed my little clutch problem today. My car now moves under it's own power. I can't describe how good it felt when I let the clutch up and my car went up the driveway. Gave me the chills.
So I want to send some thanks out to the people who made it possiable, in no particular order:
Denny for all his help over the past 2 years getting this thing going.
Dave the parts man.
Brian the other parts man.
Pete for putting a stop to my car (brakes I mean)
Rebecca for putting up with me and my car, and for helping me with everything, and for making me keep the car.
Rob for putting my gas cap door back on, I'd never be this far without your help man!
If I forgot someone then speak up damn it! I can't remember everything!!!
Thanks again everyone

What in the hell does that have to do with Joe's car running or Rebecca's happy dance? I think I have yet to see a post about someone else's car without you making some reply about your car.

Saturday, man, Saturday... Make sure she's clean and shining!
TheNovaMan 07-30-2003, 01:41 PM SWEEEET! :metal: :thumb:
So... gonna bring it to New Buffalo? ;)
And dang KillerJello, you're starting to sound like me... only more reasonable. :p
Thanks everyone!
I can't believe I forgot about you Q! Sorry about that, but definatly thanks for hooking me up with that tranny! And you too Jello, for whatever you did  LOL
No the car will not be at New Buffalo, neither will I. I had a little accident involving my clutch pedal, a bad retainer, and a wall. Don't worry, only minor scratches to the car, but I can't say much about the wall. Freak accident that proves the car is cursed, but we'll perform an exorcism and all will be well.
All I'm gonna say is I found the problem with my clutch and I'm pretty embarresed about it. If you guess it then good for you, you'll be the first to get kicked in the nads for making fun of me.
Peace out home dogs, I'm gonna go bleed the brakes and drive the car up to my shop and do an alignment, then wake the neighbors up late at night when I come home with my LT's wide open

AAAAAAAAHHH!!! :dead:
But the car is OK, right? What does "only minor scratches" mean?
And any people involved, are they all OK too?

Please don't tell me that you didn't have the clutch-fork snapped on correctly.
Dave89IROC 07-30-2003, 07:54 PM Great Joe!!!
Now bring it to M8!!
See you there
TransAmHitman 07-30-2003, 09:21 PM You know that gas door joe......well i dont think that the wad of bubble gum that i used to hold it in place will stay there long...:D well i cant wait to see it at m8... i am probably flying because i will have school and work and i dont feel like driving for about 75% of my vacation....

Yes, video, you must get video. The next best thing to being there. I must see this video...
Excellent idea, D.
Woah guys, you're getting way ahead of me! I still need to bleed the brakes and get an alignment done before it's road worthy! But everything else is good to go and I did drive it around the yard  It was fun! Tonight I'll take it out on the road if Denny gets over here and helps me bleed the damn brakes.
Ok, I'll spill it, my clutch problem was that I installed the friction disc backwards. I was in a hurry, I was distracted by Denny hitting me in the head with a saw, and I was tired as ****. I've never done somehting so stupid before, car related. I don't want to hear any jokes, I'm pretty pissed off about it, and I'll probably kicks anyone in the balls who says anything about this again. So that's it!
But I am proud of myself, in 2 hours I removed the tranny, switched the clutch disc around, reinstalled the transmission, and had a slice of pizza followed by a cool refreshing Molson Canadian  All on my own. Sure, I'll bet you've done better, but I did it without a floor jack and anyone here that knows me knows I'm not a big guy, hell Jason Debler isn't much shorter then me, but he's definatly weaker. J/K Jay, had to pick on someone today!
Well I'm gonna go head out to the garage and top off the fluids, fire it up and drive my neighbors crazy. Keepin the peace.
cASe SenSiTive 07-31-2003, 04:25 PM Joe: You do realize that those discs have a sticker on them that says "flywheel side", right?
:p

I asked him that saturday, probably what made him pull it back apart
2001-WS6 07-31-2003, 07:57 PM Congrats on getting her going there Joe.
I still like the fact that we're sitting around drinking by the pool and you're going over the clutch problems in general and then bammmmm... the light clicks. Joe says something along the lines of; "That might just be it,... it might be backwards".
Who says a few beers hurts your reasoning skills??? :D

Brakes work good, but their is still some air in the lines, I'll bleed them some more and it'll be perfect.

The little air bubbles in the lines and cylinders vibrate loose from whatever they're stuck to as you drive, and then you can bleed them again.
I kinda figured, they really felt soft. At least my engine pulls enough vaccuum to make the power brakes work, I'm very suprised by that.
