Black5.7TPI 07-28-2003, 04:47 PM I have heard of Zaino and a friend of mine uses their products. I have a black car and I have had more success with Ardex and 3M products. I have some products by different manufacturers, but I like to mix and match to get the best results.
The best wax I have used so far is P21S, this product has the most ease of use and clean up than 3M, Mothers or Meguires.
Everybody has a opinion and has their favorite products and I am always open to new suggestions
MikeLS 07-28-2003, 06:00 PM Hello,
You have found a good product! P21S and it's brother S100 are great waxes for a carnauba-type shine. I would also agree that P21S/S100 is much easier to use than Meguiar's, Mothers, or 3M waxes and the results are usually better, i.e. nice wet shine and reflectiveness. The only downsides to P21S is that it doesn't offer much protection for daily drivers and it attracts dust like a magnet.
I prefer Zaino myself for its protective qualities that carnauba products usually can't offer on daily drivers. And, with the new Zaino formulas, the polishes give a look that is similar, if not better, than P21S, at least IMO. So, if you need a product that offers outstanding protection AND a deep wet and bright look, I think you would be very happy with Zaino Z5 polish. Or, the Z2 polish for the brightest shine.
Mike

Black5.7TPI 07-29-2003, 06:12 AM I'll have to try Zaino in the future, when I buy a house with a nice garage to store my toy. I have had success with Ardex's Seal-B product and it's ease of use.
Anybody else out there using Ardex Products??
hcvone 07-29-2003, 08:29 AM Our shops tried Ardex products (we used Meguiar's products) and found that Meguiar's products were better for our needs at the time. If I used wax I would use P21S (S100)

What body shops do you operate with? Most of the ones that
I visit in the area use Ardex or 3M, a few use Mothers or Meguires.
I have also heard good things about Crystal Shine, avaiable from M/G Reconditioning Products
hcvone 07-30-2003, 10:08 AM Black, do you mean Crystal Guard? I have never heard of Crystal Shine, I have tried Crystal Guard on two cars, they looked good but the protection lasted only about 3 weeks :( Our shops (36 locations) were detail shops that were called Classic Shine, I sold the whole chain about 7 years ago, the company that purchased them from me went bankrupt 2 years after the purchase. We used many 3M products as well, but at the time were started out in the early 80's Meguiar's was trying to get into more detail and body shops, we hooked up with them at a detail convention due to the volume that we purchased having so many locations.
Black5.7TPI 07-30-2003, 05:33 PM Crystal Shine is a pink colored polish that one of the
detailers use at one of Mercedes Body Shops that I have been too. I never heard of it until about 3 months ago.
It is hard to find a good detail shop in the Bux-Mont area, since Bux-Mont closed. A lot of body shops in the area are looking for a good detail shop or trying to do the work themselves.
But from what I heard, EPA and local regs on pollution and ground water have made it tough in the area to do business.

Bill uses Zaino products, and others and there are many happy local customers.
99blackz99 08-04-2003, 12:17 AM I used to detail car for a while, 2 shops I worked for used P21S/S100 and I loved it, as far as mothers and meguiars, I hate them too much work to get them smear free IMO, I have never tried Adrex produts, but since I quit detailing for a living and just do it for fun on my car Zaino is just a WOW product every time I use it I say wow.
cals400ex 08-12-2003, 02:38 PM who makes the p21s and s100? where can i get these from? thanks
DR Freeze 08-12-2003, 06:46 PM You can find S100 at Harley Davidson shops, I think most carry it.
Error 08-12-2003, 07:03 PM I can't believe it when I hear Zaino referred to as
A wax that is very labor intensive to use, but allegedly produces a shine as bright as my hiney.
This always comes from people who are too set in their ways to try it. I've used a lot of products (although yet to try S100) and it's the easiest on, easiest off product I've ever used. You use hardly any and it spreads like expensive butter on hot toast, then wipes off easier than I thought possible.
Most of the other products I used required swirling up the car, letting it sit, then working the wax off until you were 10lbs lighter from the exercise... then, of course, you have to sit there and scrape it out of every nook and cranny... and god save you if you got it on black plastic! (Armor All and Turtle Wax were the WORST at this)
I've used a couple 3M products and I liked the results, but they tend to require a lot of work or a good buffer. The shine is alright, but I like the painfully deep shine of a couple wipe on/wipe off coats of Zaino.
Just adding another $.02 to the pot.
