When buying ET streets is there a big enough difference to go for either or? The reason I ask is that I can get a set of the 26x10.5x16 for 250.00 brand new. Should I hold out and pay full price for the 26x11.5x16 version?

Depends how much hp you have. If you have any serious mods, go with the 11.5. The tread width of the 11.5 is more than an inch wider than the 10.5 and it will give you a harder launch. Either will be a problem with a stock rear end.

Hmm Im kind of in the same spot. I have seen a bunch of 10.5's for sale instead of 11.5's. What would you recommend for me Rich?

Matt: either will be a heck of a lot better than street tires. But the 10.5 is not much tire for a 400+rwhp car that also has a front weight bias! There is a reason you see so many set for sale while people tend to wear out the 11.5" tire. The wider tire works better and I think you will be disappointed in the 10.5"

As per Rich's suggestion, I went with the 11.5's on salad shooters and I love them. Go w/ the 11.5's.
I would go with the wider tire. I see too many people saving a buck up front because they could get a deal, and then being frustrated for an entire season because the deal wasn't what they really needed.

Go with the MOST tire you can AFFORD and FIT!!:alert:
A very good bracket racer once advised me ALWAYS overtire the car! Some cases MORE is BETTER!

P.S. The last time I seen, this "very good" bracket racer was leading in the Summit Super Series Points Series, in the fast class. Cory Mclenathan (sp)! An old fellow Milan Dragway racer/friend. Now racing out of Norwalk, OH.

The 11.5s are significantly taller than the 10.5s too, which is a factor if you are going through the traps close to a shift point.
Isnt the difference only .3? 25.9 vs 26.2?

That's what I thought too. And how much would that affect the gear ratio?

It's a trivial difference.

1.1158 % difference. Multiply this number by current gear ratio then subtract the result from current gear ratio.
EXAMPLE 3.23 x 1.1158 = .0360
3.23 - .0360 = 03.19 effective ratio
