Lightweight seats...96z 07-28-2003, 01:13 AM Anyone using a lightweight seat like this one (http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=2500&prmenbr=361) Are there anyothers out there? If so how did you mount them? steve10358 07-28-2003, 01:21 AM I thought you had light weight seats? 96z 07-28-2003, 01:51 AM Originally posted by steve10358 I thought you had light weight seats? I do but the corbeu's are pigs compared to a poly seat. The mounting brackets alone weigh something like 15lbs. When I used to work at Fedex and a poly seat came through I swear they weighed no more than 10 lbs.. Injuneer 07-28-2003, 11:44 AM How much do the poly seats weigh? Summit has a newer model with more options for passing the harness through the back.. either Y-type or individual straps. Both JEG's and Summit sell simple metal brackets for their seats. Remember, you also need to bolt the seatback to the cross-bar. They sell brackets specifically for this too. My Corbeau Forza is 16#. The killer is the Corbeau custom slider bracker mount... it weighs 10#. I guess the thing to do is just figure out where the seats work best, and bolt them in without the slider. If you use the slider, NHRA requires a "double locking" feature. I've got the hoop back far enough that with the seat where I like it, the distance from the back of my helmet to the hoop is borderline, so I keep the seat slid back a ways for "tech". 96z 07-28-2003, 11:49 AM Thanks for the info Fred. I dont know off the top of my head how much they weigh exactly but like I said I remember them being extremely light..... | ||
