Before I wash my car, I spray ArmorAll Wheel Cleaner on my chrome rims to try and get dirt off. The last time I washed my car I noticed that on the right front rim, the chrome plating is barely coming off towards the perimeter of the rim, and I think it's because of this ArmorAll junk. I didn't buy the stuff, got a lot as a gift, so I just use it to get rid of it.

Do any of you with chrome rims use this stuff and are you having the same problem?

Man...you can't use any of that sh!t on chrome wheels. Use only mild soap and water....and to get 'em REALLY looking good, Windex.

I used to have triple chrome 18 inch wheels on a Tbird i used to own. I used a couple of wheels cleaners and found out it didn't really work and even on the back it says its not friendly on all finishes. The web sit where I bought them from recommended car wash soap and water. It woked best and they even recommended to apply wax on them. They claim it protects well just like on your car. I didn't try wax though.

I used soap and water and cleaned my wheels up good. then I've been putting zaino wax on them whenever i wax my car. cleaning is much easier now.

That wheel cleaner I was using is junk. It never got my wheels clean and I always had to scrub them with car soap and a sponge to make them shine. I think I'll apply a nice coat of wax to the wheels the next time I wash them.

Wash your chrome wheels with car wash, you can clay them like your paint to get all the dirt off, then apply you favorite polish/wax, synthetic wax products will hold up better to the heat of your wheels, just polish/wax them like you would your paint.
