Just wash it before you cover it. And don't buy a cheap one. You get what you pay for.

Shouldn't hurt, but I can't stress how important it is to put it on a clean car. Covering a dirty car allows that dirt to be rubbed in by every little movement of the cover.

I used to cover my 3rd gen, no sweating problems. Mileage may vary.
Try it and see what happens :)

I just purchased a California Car cover for my IROC (a forum sponsor) and I LOVE this cover. It's up there in price, almost $200, but you get exactly what you pay for. I had the wal-mart covers before, and one from the local Advance Auto, and they're CRAP to wha the Cali cover is! Sure it gets the car wet in a heavy rainstorm, but the car dries almost as quickly as if it were exposed with no waterspots! Worth it in my book completely!
